Peanut industry is not required by St & Feds to inform public -or even government- of salmonella contamination in plants. Industry giants used peanuts in a variety of products & relied on factory to perform safety testing-divulge problems.

“With children accounting for half of the salmonella illnesses traced to the Blakely plant — and a worldwide recall that now includes pails of peanut butter shipped to schools, military bases and nursing homes — the safety issues raised by the outbreak are drawing comparisons to those in China's tainted milk scandal.”
Think you aren’t affected by the biggest US food recall ever? If you or loved ones, including your pets, eat cakes, cookies, candy, ice cream, snack bars, pet foods, crackers, snack mixes, fruits and vegetables, dressings and seasonings, prepackaged meals…pet foods… and oh yes… PEANUTS or PEANUT BUTTER… you might want to check out the updated list of 1844 recalled products. And remember recalls are voluntary… don’t assume presence on store shelf means safety.

The People need a government agency that is big enough to do the job.
This FDA is just making us fat, sick and dead.

I was glad to see House lawmakers humiliate Stew Parnell yesterday, "the man whose peanut butter killed eight people and sickened 550 more," but it's not enough.
