In reality (a seldom-used term in political circles) . . .

Is this really meaningful?

(Aren't we ALL just playing a cat-and-mouse game here?)

I can just hear the conversation:

"Wanna admit to being overt?"

"Nope. Too extreme. I'll be overly-zealous."

"Well, think anyone will buy it?"

"Who cares?"

And we sit here . . .

And we keep reading the same . . .

And we know it's all lies . . .

But, we keep "note-ing" it . . .

And we keep believing that "Front Page" makes a difference . . .

This is great news, however,
there's a country-mile's
worth of difference between
an arrest warrant, and an actual
arrest.
These Israeli criminals will be
arrested the same day Bush & Cheney
will be arrested.......
in other words, never.

Thanks, Carole.

Iran asks Interpol to arrest Israeli war criminals
Sun, 01 Mar 2009 23:36:57 GMT

Tehran's Public Prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi
Interpol begins studying Iran's request for the arrest of 15 senior Israeli officials over war crimes committed during the Gaza offensive.

At a news briefing on Sunday, Tehran's Public Prosecutor, Saeed Mortazavi, said that Iran had referred the case to the International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO or Interpol), drawing on the organization's charter and Israel's violation of the Geneva Conventions.

"Governments of 180 countries have received the information necessary for identifying the suspects," he said.

In a Monday statement, Iran's judiciary said that it has asked Interpol to issue an international Red Notice security alert for the 15 Israeli officials who were involved in the 23-day Israeli offensive on Gaza.

The statement added that the judiciary was also looking into complaints made against 100 other Israelis, with top military and government posts.

In December 2008, Iran's judicial body announced a decision to set up a court to investigate complaints, made by wounded Gazans against Israel and delivered to Iran by the Palestinian envoy.

The judiciary said that it would be ready to try the implicated Israeli officials in absentia.

"In the current week, we have completed our investigation of about 15 individuals who were among those criminals," IRIB, Iran's State Television, quoted Mortazavi as saying.

"Based on our investigation and according to article 2 of the Interpol charter, we asked Interpol to arrest these suspects."

Mortazavi said the charges included war crimes, invasion, occupation, genocide and crimes against humanity.

The Iranian prosecutor was referring to Israeli strikes that started on December 27 on the densely populated Palestinian coastal territory and did not end until it had claimed the lives of more than 1,330 Gazans, mostly civilians.

Many international NGOs and human rights organizations, Palestinians wounded in the Gaza onslaught, more than 5,700 Iranian lawyers and attorneys in the Iranian Bar Association along with a large number of medics were also among those who filed complaints against Tel Aviv, Mortazavi added.

The list of Israeli war criminals includes:

1 Outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert
2 Defense Minister Ehud Barak
3 Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni
4 Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi
5 Commander in Chief of the Israeli Air Force Ido Nehoshtan
6 Commander of the Gaza war -- Operation Cast Lead -- Maj. Gen. Yoav Galant
7 Head of Military Intelligence Directorate Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin
8 Commander of Battalion 13 in the Golani Brigade Lt. Col. Oren Cohen
9 Deputy to the Givati Brigade Col. Ron Ashrov
10 Commander of the Israel Paratroopers' Brigade in Gaza Col. Hertzi Halevy
11 Commander of 401st Armored Corps Brigade convoy Col. Yigal Slovik
12 Commander of the 101st Battalion in the Paratrooper Brigade Lt. Col. Avi Blot
13 Lt. Col. Yoav Mordechai, who served as a commander of the Golani infantry brigade's 13th Battalion in Gaza
14 Givati squad commander Col. Tomer Tsiter
15 Brigade commander in Battalion 51 Col. Avi Peled

YEAH NO ARREST WARRANT HAVE BEEN ISSUED AT THIS TIME ........A QUESTION WAS POSED BY A GROUP OF IRANIAN JUDGES AND LAWYERS to INTERPOL which ask if IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF ......see that word there "IF" ........ A LIST OF INDIVIDUALS can have war crimes charges brought against them...........WHICH AS A MEMBER OF THE INTERPOL COMMUNITY IS THE right OF IRAN .......and since israel IS ALSO A MEMBER WHO HAS SIGNED ON TO THE TREATY of interpol .......IS A GOOD LINE OF THINKING TO TAKE .......

but an investigation or question does not WARRANTS MAKE ...and due to IRAN's stance on the existence of AN ISRAELI state will be taken into account ......THIS WILL TAKE QUITE A BIT OF TIME DUE TO AN investigation against those that signed onto the REQUEST ......interpol must now look at the agenda of those who signed onto the QUESTION .......AND TO OPEN THIS QUESTION NOW interpol WILL HAVE TO ALSO INVESTIGATE THE ILLEGAL SELLING of munitions to hamas IN GAZA ........

I ALSO WILL HOLD TO THE IDEA THAT BRINGING ALL THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR WAR CRIMES TO TRIAL IS NEEDED but

I DO NOT PLACE ANY CREDIBILITY IN A WEB SITE WHICH USES THE TERM OR ANY FORM OF THE WORD ZIONIST ......

I'm just up in the middle of the night and checking and saw this in my inbox 'shyt'. and it is Iran. Wonder if any other country has the gumption to join in, I don't think so, I do think Iran has feared being nuked by Israel who has planned to nuke Iran. I hope this holds them off. Israel is out of control, and the backing by the USA who is compliciant in war crimes by supplying the weapons, same as desert storm, and canada complicant for supplying DUI, charges were brought up sort of and nothing happened.

So, it is still 'good headlines" and they did come forward. More countries together international court. Dont forget thou Spain is as well, they are investigating for war crimes. Israel will have USA backing, head miltary is or was over there helping Israel military, i know last week with their bombs and defences I wanted to puke. (no offence to my american freinds, just as with my jewish freinds)

Not holding my breath either, but sure got my heart going when I saw it in half-asleep reading it. What do they need Palestine totally wiped out and complete their ethnic cleasning while they world does f'all andis being censored and told to 'shut up' because israel always uses the excuse 'anti-semitism' I am fed up with it and have been for years. I rue the day when I was very young and ever thought about going to live in a kibbutz, I did do some reserch then and one of the reasons I didn't was because of serving in the army. I had no idea of zionist ideology then.

Well thax for the forward C. Israel isn't stopping, and they are censoring the whole internet as well as 'the real world' its israel aparthied week, and they are out in numbers.

jews (and othersa)all over the world use the word ZIONIST those for and against.

on the site, there are 2 different dates, the one stating Interpol Issuses Arrests THERE IS NO ARTICLE, only the one I copied out, still going throu my inbox.

"Interpol begins studying Iran's request for the arrest of 15 senior Israeli officials over war crimes committed during the Gaza offensive"

as for noting articles, it is often useless often not, keeping gaza and palestine in the search engines and in the news is important, they don;'t have to make front page (the more the better, get past main stream media, if you are posting alot from mainstream propoganda media that people get anyway you aren't makeing much of a difference often), but enough note it's to keep them and israels human rights offences and OCCUPIED PALESTINE in the news. the Jewish Internet Defence Force is massive and everywhere on the internet and forums, and on their site they have a donation button, with all the billions they get every year from the USA, yeahm, i wonder how much canada gives. they signed agreements, new ones with israel the other year I posted it, something to research tomorrow.

make no mistake without hte palestine bloggers all these years, you would hear nothing, nothing of the truth, only white washed propoganda which most of the media, if any, lets through. no critism of israel allowed - and they are still at it.

Noted, thanks Carole.

It's about time another country took the initiative to file war crimes charges against Israel, but I would have not ever thought that it would be Iran who contacted ITERPOL/ICPO to file the necessary charges against the war monger Israelis. I knew the US was not going to anything to support the Palestinians against the illegal occupation of their county by Israel. Israel wants to wipe Palestine off the map, and Iran wants to wipe Israel off the map. But when Iran made that statement it really shook the US government, but when Israel said the same about Palestine it didn't even get media attention.

Even the average Israeli citizen did not support the war on Palestine and they let their government know just exactly how they felt about it.

Tzipi Livni is a member of the Lukud Party, which is considered a terrorist organization. And she is running for PM of Israel on the Lukud ticket. I don't believe they will win the election. At least I hope she doesn't. I'm not opposed to a woman being PM. Golda Meir was an excellent PM.

Interpol denies any truth to this story:

Statement by INTERPOL General Secretariat headquarters, Lyon, France

02 March 2009

While INTERPOL does not ordinarily comment on false stories reported in the media, in light of the nature of recent erroneous articles reporting that INTERPOL is being used by Iranian authorities to seek the arrest of 15 senior Israeli officials on alleged charges of war crimes in Gaza, the Organization is taking the unusual step of making the following public statement:

“INTERPOL has neither been requested to issue by Iran, nor has it issued on behalf of Iran or any of its 187 member countries any Red Notices for persons wanted internationally or other requests seeking the arrest of senior Israeli officials for alleged war crimes in relation to the Gaza offensive in December and January.”

INTERPOL’s Constitution strictly prohibits the Organization from making ‘any intervention or activities of a political, military, religious or racial character’.

All further enquiries should be directed to the source reported in the media. Since INTERPOL has received no information in relation to the alleged false claim, INTERPOL is unable to comment further on this matter.

Iran, Syria vow to bring Israel to justice
http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=87153§ionid=351020101
Sun, 01 Mar 2009 12:52:24 GMT

Iran and Syria vow to support the rights of Palestinian people by bringing Israeli leaders to justice for their recent war crimes in Gaza.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Tehran on Sunday the Iranian first Vice-President Parviz Davoodi and Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Otri pledged support for the oppressed people of Palestine, particularly the people of Gaza.

"We have to help support the rights of Palestinian people especially in Gaza and should be very vigilant because of the plots and ploys of enemies," Davoodi said while praising Damascus for being a key player in supporting Palestinians against Israeli aggression .

Israel staged a massive air strike against the besieged region of Gaza for 23 consecutive days, pounding residential units, schools, mosques and hospitals, killing over 1, 300 people and wounding more than 5,000 others.

Israel's offensive against Gaza was faced with severe international criticism across the globe, which came to an end after the two sides announced separate ceasefires.

Recently some 5,700 Iranian lawyers filed a compliant against 24 Israeli leaders and commanders involved in the recent Gaza onslaught. Israeli President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni are among the officials accused of war crimes.

Meanwhile, Turkey's Mazlum-Der rights group launched an investigation into Israeli crimes against humanity and genocide during the 23-day deadly offensive in the Gaza Strip.

The group filed a complaint which asked that Turkey be given the right to try 19 Israeli warlords including Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, President Shimon Peres, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Defense Minister Ehud Barak of committing genocide and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Several international rights groups, including Amnesty and Human Rights Watch, have accused Israel of using banned weapons against the densely-populated coastal enclave of 1.6 million.

Iran is also going to host an international conference in support of Palestine on March 4-5 2009 in Tehran. Significant figures of the international community including the Arab League, Organization of Islamic Conference as well as renowned international lawyers have been invited to the conference.

Iran Presents List of 149 Israeli War Criminals to Interpol

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran released a list of 149 Israeli war criminals including 34 political leaders and 115 other Israelis involved in the recent war against Gaza people, Iranian Prosecutor General Qorban Ali Dorri Najafabadi announced.

Noting that the group is charged with committing war crimes and violating the Geneva Conventions and war laws, Najafabadi stressed on Sunday that the Israeli leaders have breached the human rights and committed genocide.

Iran wants Interpol to issue arrest warrants for these criminals because of their crimes against humanity, occupation, aggression, threatening regional and international peace and security, he reiterated.

There are the names of some top Israeli leaders in Iran's presented list to the Interpol, including Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and Defense Minister Ehud Barak.

Israel's recent military operation in Gaza killed some 1,400 Palestinians. Over 50,000 people were also left homeless in the enclave of 1.5 million. Israel's casualties in the conflict were put at 13, including 10 military personnel, while over 5,500 Palestinians have been wounded.

Iran Calls for Arrests of Olmert, Livni, Barak, and Others

by Malkah Fleisher

(IsraelNN.com) Tehran's top prosecutor is calling for the arrest of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, and 12 other Israeli leaders on charges of war crimes related to Israel's recent war against Hamas jihadists in Gaza, according to CNN.

Prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi called on Interpol to arrest the "war criminals" Iran says violated international law during the recent war, according to Iranian news agency ISNA. Another 100 Israelis are also being called "war criminals" by Iran, who says the Jews are under investigation.

Yet Tehran Times, Iran's leading international daily paper, says the Iranian judiciary has charged 29 Israelis with crimes, also including Mossad chief Meir Dagan, Chief of the General Staff of the IDF Gabi Ashkenazi, and Attorney General Menachem Mazuz.

Israel launched an attack on Hamas on December 27, following years of Gaza-launched Kassam attacks on Israeli citizens in southwestern Israel.

Reports from Gaza claim that over 1,300 Gazans died and about 5,400 others were wounded during the war. Thirteen Israelis, including 10 soldiers, were killed in the fighting.

On March 4, Iran will host a two-day international conference on Palestine in Tehran, with a goal "to condemn the Zionist regime and to collect evidence of Israel’s crimes from all over the world," according to the Times. Parliamentarians from 15 countries will attend.
