The books are cooked and the numbers are faked anyway. Why not? Who's going to know? So while the US auto industry is strong-armed into massive restructuring, and the common people of Main Street are told to get used to the suffering . . .

That sounds good, Eric. HOWEVER, there appears to be a HUGE difference between "their" reality and "ours."

"This blatant cover-up, ordered at the top, prevents negative news from spoiling the bogus Wall Street rally. Obama himself will announce the results later, after he and his economic minions have had a chance to “manage” the data.

So much for accountability. So much for transparency and disclosure. So much for the populist hot air and propaganda gases spewing from the Obama administration, Ben Bernanke’s Federal Reserve, Tim Geithner, and Larry Summers."

I agree we have many possible avenues of change, and they do not depend on bailouts for the TOP 20 banks and TOP 20 corporations that have run us into the mess. We have a country full of bright aggressive possible entrepreneurs, why are we not supporting them? Why are we on the endless tread mill of the same old companies raping the people...while we blandly smile and accept the same old worn old explanations?

April 15...could be just another date on the calendar if we have the courage to make it so. Why not start with doing away with an illegal tax code - bring in the Fair Tax, demand all of our constitutional rights be restored. Do we really believe that America can not be restored without AIG, Citibank, Lehman Brothers etal? Are we that gullible?

On the lighter side, a friend of mine just sent the following to me, which pretty much sums up the scruples of "our" government:

But, I know it's really . . .

US, HELP US!

Wake up!

Too many won't wake up for their own reasons. It is very frustrating, as it is the only way the people can help bring forth true change. In my own community, so many just "don't want to hear it." They feel safe in their perspective of the many illusions in this world. I am a tax preparer, for those who can't afford the high fees or do them on their own, and so many are focused on what the government and bankers have been allowed to create, in this nation.

I'm angry and frustrated in so many ways. First that this was allowed to happen even tho we knew it was happening, that it is continuing to happen and will most likely happen again since no one seems to be responsible except for the little people. Here we go with rewarding those that stole and manipulated for the appalling behavior. Weren't we always told that the good guys won? I guess that was one of the first lies we were told in preparation for all the lies our government will tell us later. Did ya ever wonder of all the money the government hands out over all these decades how much of it has just been stolen with no way to track who did it? Certainly in no measure could the government or any of its worthless subsidiaries pass a true audit--you know the kind where 1+1=2.

What makes me madder? That people (like me) are TRYING OUR DAMNEDEST to tell people the truth, but are assaulted by "Obama-philes" (who don't want anything negative about him even presented -- I guess "freedom of press only applies to pro-Obama-philes)

and people who keep insisting on dividing the same people who are being oppressed into ridiculous categories (such as "left," "right," "centrist.") making it even FURTHER impossible to speak to them.

Hell, "they" don't even NEED to brainwash the general population any more. The populist "elitists" (who are so proud to be in a "better" category than their fellow victims) are doing the work for them!

Sheesh!

How about bailing out our children... providing the funding for the laws in place that are there to protect them???

It's disgusting to me that people who I previously thought to be progressive, I now see as "social climbers," more than willing to make others beneath them, and occupying a lower rung on the ladder.

WAKE UP! None of us are even permitted to climb the elitist ladder . . . and I'm sure even THEY hold you in contempt for your treasonous behavior.

The only "bailout" that should have been made was to the taxpayers. All this stimulus, tarp, corporate bailout money, etc is ultimately funded by the tax paying Americans. Wouldn't it be better to just give the damn money to the people who paid it in the first place so they could spend or save it as they saw fit? could you imagine the boost to the economy that would have happened if the government would have eliminated income and payroll taxes for a year which would have equaled the stimulus and bailout money.
Obama is just perpetuating and in fact accelerating the Bush spending binge. I think i am more qualified to decide how to spend my money than the government is to decide how to spend my money.

The writer is wrong, the "Green Light To Lie" was given when Bush was in office but the game still continues.
I do not know about anyone else but since when did Bank of America ever do a "bad mortgage" When we tried to Refi they and Wells Fargo were the strictest and hardest to get. We had very good credit and balance free. There is no way they ever took part in the mortgage scheme. I don't buy the bailouts, they were paid off to crash the economy! So they can implement their new currency. PERIOD!
Obama said change, I said ok, give him a chance even though I am a Ron Paul supporter. But he has had his chance, he has NOT reinstated our Constitution, you know the thing that protects our rights and freedoms, he has not investigated or allowed an investigation into Bush, he refuses to take our troops out of Iraq and we are STILL being monitored on e-mail and phone. Not too mention the continuance of the bailout saga.
Yeah, okay so he intervened Bush's mass endangered act. Yep, he gave some money to the Native Americans. Yep he has an organic garden, is personable, family man, and has a dog but still he is keeping us at risk day after day.
Change comes from us! Not the government. Not the World bankers. There 545 of them and billions of us. They are scared stiff of being caught and hide behind the scenes. They are paranoid we are going to "find them out" they spy on us, their own citizens. We still can have our homes and property seized, held indefinitely and not given trial.
There are no less than 20 bills right now to take away a parents rights alone. A gun regulation law that will eventually kill any right to own a gun and protect yourself. All of which Congress does not read. There is so much added to the bills that does not even have anything to do with the Bill itself. They listen to the lobbyists to get the jist all the while our Constitution is saying bye bye!
What are we waiting for Jesus? He came and went! Is Demanding our rights and freedoms too much to ask? What are we scared of or are we as a nation just to too submissive on antiphsychotics! Does anyone wonder why soooo many millions are on them???

DEMAND OUR CONSTITUTION REINSTATED IN FULL NOW!

The "powers that be" don't give the people a nibble, until the final period of time that is after, the banks, wall street, and insurance companies are able to continue the flow of a capitalistic system. A corporate nation will NEVER give help "to the people" that doesn't keep a manipulating market alive.

I am often challenged by my ego and emotions these days, as Carole is..., that so many don't contact their Congress people and become a participant of change, in this nation. Too many are motivated by materialism and power within "the people." It is sad. I am an ex-Democrat, as of last year, who is still in recovery, heh. I agree with Carole, toss out the political party ideal. They are all in the game.

As for Jesus, he has been back for awhile..., the second coming is already happening in the hearts of the people. Sadly, too many aren't recognizing this positive force within themselves. He walked among the sick and dying as a healer and speaker of TRUTH. This requires great sacrificies of each individual. In todays time, we see the forces against this same principle. No freedom nor rights to bring truth to the people, and it is upon 'the people' to create their own change. The people MUST change their lifestyle, and remember what is truth, so they can turn their backs to the corporations.

So what happens when the people, as a whole, fail to unite?

The answer is of many scenarios, dependent on the number of people and their strong positive intent with action. I hope more wake-up soon. thank you Carole.
