Officials cannot make intelligent scientific policy decisions concerning climate change/global warming in an apocalyptic state of environmental terror; however, the public appears to be slipping into a self-destructive apathetic generalized complacency.

That's not what the public is doing. Actually, they are waking up. What do lightning strikes have to do with it all.
The first pickture is computer generated schlock, not reality. the second picture of the Polar bear was taken in August 100 yards from shore.....who knows what happened to the fish? I didn't bother with the other 4. The public is waking up to the fakery.

"The 0.5 degree C per century warming that has occurred this last 100 years is consistent with the theoretical level of warming that might occur with a doubling of CO2. But it is also similar to the warming that has taken place on Mars, Jupiter, Neptune and Pluto."

The denial of global warming with rationalizations do not compare to clear charts showing increases of CO2 year after year. The shrinking polar ice thickness, disappearing glaciers, are all going to be strong evidence we should have reacted to years ago. Soon these people who argue no global warming will be seen as obstructionists and believers in the creation of the world by intelligent design or 6000 years ago, or the world is still a flat disk.

The human race is on the self destruct mode. Soon the next life form will be talking about why the human race died off as we do now with the dinosaurs. Greed and glutony perhaps?

With All Due Respect:

Here is the website for the Treehugger photos:
http://www.treehugger.com/galleries/2009/03/7-terrifying-global-warming-pictures.php?page=1

The original photo from the above post can be found in the Vanity Fair Web site: http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2006/05/warming200605

If anyone can look at these photos and still insist there is no global warming, then there is no hope left for the world.

It doesn't matter if the photo of the polar bear floating on a sliver of an ice cap is 100 feet away...what matters is that the habitat is dying; but it only takes one snyde remark to crank up the republicans and those who poo-poo everything that isn't in their personal doctrine.

HOWEVER, sometimes the information brought to the attention of those in Care 2 and other Web sites does not properly attribute the SOURCE of the information; a lack of credibility in a story (and proper credit regarding quoted information) is vital to a story's validity. Otherwise, those who scoff at the concept of global warming can point their finger at those who support the position against global warming and claim that the information we are offering is unreliable, a hoax, a fake, left-wing ranting, and all the rest of the Rush Limbaugh rhetoric.

While I applaud the effort, I do encourage others to write in complete sentences, give credit where credit is due, and do a little research before posting a comment -- you'll thank yourself for furthering your education, and assisting in the education of the world.

For love of this planet,

As I already said before, nature does its work,as I learned in school every so many ages there will come a time that earth is going to take its course. All we can do is stop being so over-consuming and let us stop polluting planet earth.Keep on talking to your governments not only America but all over the WORLD.We are all helping with the destruction of our beautiful planet EARTH,except for the poor countries of course.

A big part of the Global Warming is caused by the energy from the sun that is getting stronger and stronger. We are spectators of our own dying on this planet. We had ALL means, knowledge, technology and enough brain to prevent all this, but we could not get our asses up from our comfortable life and shout Noooo! We watched other people discussing if Global Warming really exists and when it will be sever enough for not be possible to stop it. Now it is too late!

The majority of scientific experts have pretty much reached a consensus now that global warming is real and certain and is caused by human activity. The few nay-sayers left are the ones who are on the payrolls of the ones who are causing the pollution. To say that global warming is natural is like sticking your head in the sand hoping it will go away. Rush Limbugh does not know more than the climate experts.

Judy C. You're the one who needs to wake up. You and all of the others that think like you, with their heads stuck in the sand.

We may need to wonder that our concern is CO2 in every discussion. The presence of huge space satellite rubbish and pollution around the environment and life giving spheres, perhaps named as the biospheres, are degenerating, and we mean it that these are going to cease before our eyes cease to shed tears in the absence of mercy, pity and other similar words, which we read in the dictionaries. We seem to be lost in the small part of CO2; the depletion of natural life on earth is the concern. We find the dying life and extinction of species in the food chain for the marketers, who tell the politicians in the world what to do. The market is the global parliament, who is deaf, dumb and blind to any petition. There are other problems; the Ozone layer and holes in it are present more badly than on the other planets. The babies are having jaundice just after taking birth in most parts of the world. The diseases are ever increasing, so Judy is right that if we shout we can have echo in mind. Thanks!

Judy take a long break and get some education on the facts before you post any more of your denialist drival. It is getting to be a terrific bore.

Well, the most educated community that we have on our planet is the one that learns the lessons of adaptability. This community knows how to survive in the adverse situations and handle anything that is against the natural world. This is not from the developed countries, rather the developing and the under developing countries have these members in one of the communities of the natural world. It is developing faster than any other developing community.

We may guess and all know it, and it is proven globally.

The community of the mosquitoes are developing faster than any other race in the natural world and can survive with strong immunity system, while the earth, other species, which are not educated that way, including humans have HIV and AIDS. The soil has it as well because the fertility is lowering the entire natural products and the diseases are spreading among all, the Bird Flu is an example.

So, let us learn from the Mosquito Community-How to Survive!

We all are educated, the only point is that we are not able to utilize our knowledge into practical ways because we are not taught it in the institutions and thus are forced to get the artificial products. Even our cloths are not the natural, the plastic fiber and other cosmetic that harms us is our joy. The Harry Potter (Porter!) is the ideal image, and thus the worship idol. Who can teach us the natural life-the plants, birds and animals can teach us, thus is the teaching from the natural world, but conditions apply.

If we want to live it practically, we are learning, otherwise simply loading our mind and the brain with more information and knowledge. We have to stop loading this knowledge and the charm of the artificial world and the products it gives in the market.

Our concerns are common, but we are having the divided opinion, which are used in the polls and thus against us. If we cannot have common opinions, all of the petitions are always a junk or spam for the super computers or the Rubbish Bin, but are we are ensured that action will be taken.

Now, let us ask ourselves:

"Have we taken any action in our daily life for the natural world?"
"Do we prefer natural or the artificial products?" and
"Is anybody stopping us from using the organic and or the natural products in all forms?"

The list of such self-questioning is endless and we mostly fail in our daily life and give wonderful expressions about the same in our appeals and the petitions. It seems we want echo of self praise that we have done our part of duty, but of it is in the theories or in the mind, but not in practical or the daily life. So, Judy is doing a great job to give us the sense, the common sense that we are wasting our time and energy in finding truths, without practicing the ones that we know. It is good way to awaken others. Thanks!

Chris H....try reading a bit outside of the Green Ghetto of fake environmental sites. It is you in need of an education.

It's cooling...I'm not making that up.

CO2 levels are still going up....I'm not making that up either

According to the Warmists, that should be impossible.
http://www.drroyspencer.com/latest-global-temperatures/

Try some real science from a real scientist for a change.

Judy, If the earth is cooling as you say, kindly explain the melting of the glaciers all over the world, the disappearing arctic icecap and the fact that the Greenland Ice sheet is melting faster than ever before? I checked with your source Dr. Spencer, among his core beliefs is "Intelligent Design" - oops, this puts everything he says into serious doubt for me.
As we all know ID was recently invented by some religious wing-nuts to explain the truth and irrefutable facts of evolution - After years of vehement denial (sound familiar), they now claim evolution was how God created life on earth (how convenient)

Back to kindergarten. If only you would bother to read what I posted, you wouldn't ask such dumb questions.
Glaciers are growing around the world, including the United States
http://www.iceagenow.com/Growing_Glaciers.htm

You don't like Dr Spencer because he's a Christian? How about Richard Lindzen...he's a Jew...maybe even Athiest for all I know http://eaps.mit.edu/faculty/lindzen.htm. Ask him

When you can't fault the science attack the scientist with stupid, irrelevant smears.

No Judy, I live near a glacier and it is really melting away. Less and less left every year - not growing, shrinking! I have been reading your posts, they are in contradiction to all the real science being conducted on the ground. I can't say what old Dr. Spencer is doing with his little toy in space but it sure seems complicated and mad-scientist like compared to the very clear photographic and geologic evidence of receding glaciers & melting icecaps that others are presenting as their evidence. I neither like nor dislike the good Doctor because he's a Christian, but am suspicious of his findings and motives because he's a revisionist that has already done a 180 degree turn on other things he "believed" after the proof was irrefutable. Plus as a devoted Christian he must also believe the world is only 10,000 years old and that's not the fact either.
