Time is running out and the decisions we make now are affecting the future outcome of global warming temperature rise around our planet. It's time to take an inventory of our current personal choices and look at how they will change our future generation!

"The Carbon Dioxide Greenhouse Effect"

In the 19th century, scientists realized that gases in the atmosphere cause a "greenhouse effect" which affects the planet's temperature. These scientists were interested chiefly in the possibility that a lower level of carbon dioxide gas might explain the ice ages of the distant past. At the turn of the century, Svante Arrhenius calculated that emissions from human industry might someday bring a global warming. Other scientists dismissed his idea as faulty. In 1938, G.S. Callendar argued that the level of carbon dioxide was climbing and raising global temperature, but most scientists found his arguments implausible. It was almost by chance that a few researchers in the 1950s discovered that global warming truly was possible. In the early 1960s, C.D. Keeling measured the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere: it was rising fast. Researchers began to take an interest, struggling to understand how the level of carbon dioxide had changed in the past, and how the level was influenced by chemical and biological forces. They found that the gas plays a crucial role in climate change, so that the rising level could gravely affect our future. (This essay covers only developments relating directly to carbon dioxide, with a separate essay for Other Greenhouse Gases. For related theoretical issues, see the essay on Simple Models of Climate.)

The human race has to change our polluting, discarding, consumerism, and exploitation practics before we can do something effectively to contain global warming.Let's start with the top YOUR GOVTS,YOUR LAWMAKERS,CHURCHES,

The US governments know since 1967 that this Global Warming and ecolgy catastrophe would come. This shows how big is the chance to change things for the better. Decisions have been made long ago.

Don't let facts get in the way. The warming peaked in 1998 and it has been cooling since 2002. Arctic ice has recovered to close to the 1979-2000 average...so how can you keep on parroting the insane propaganda against a beneficial trace gas that is necessary for life?

Thanks Robert great article; "A study done by two geophysicists at the University of Chicago said that just one person reducing his or her meat consumption by only 20% would be the equivalent of switching from a Camry to a Prius. Think about that! With simple changes to our everyday food choices, we can actually make as much a difference as the guy who just purchased a hybrid car - easily. We CAN make big differences."
"meat consumption a major source of land, soil, air and water degradation, and other environmental problems, it’s also a main cause of the current world food crisis, as nearly half of the world’s grain is used to feed livestock instead of humans."
The best thing that you can do to tackle global warming is go Vegan :)
