For the Kayapo tribe, the rainforest is more than just a forest, it is their source of food, water, shelter, medicine and spiritual well-being. The Kayapo clearly understand the necessity for a mutual respect within the balance of nature!

We must re-learn our 'true' system of values with priorities, and the Kayapo are one of our best teachers for this training!

One day we may be forced to learn or even one day it may become too late!!!

i agree with you Robert! It's a shame that we humans are doing that all over the world. I think that is part of the issue with the warming. Not only that, the plants we are destroying could be part of a cure for many diseases. And of course, homes!

thanks for sharing.

It's important to support the struggle of the Kayapo and the Achuar too! Lowlands indigenous people are defending their forests against oil companies that pollute the rivers and lands and timber companies that destroy the habitat. The Amazon is in great danger also for a growing population demanding more and more food, being the lands cleared for cattle and crops.

The video was great..it captures the beauty there..but..yet sad to watch..for the harm and destruction taking place..And it is so true that whatever harmful effects arise there..certainly effects us all..Yet still some just look the other way and do nothing to stop it..only seek to destroy it..
Thank you Tom..

The Kayapo people are so incredibly beautiful, their knowledge instinctively inherently harmonious and One with their environment only ask that we bring awareness and aid them in protecting everything they have ever known ... their 'Eden' ... and their culture ... their Nation ...
We cannot ignore or neglect to act on their behalf.

Please take a moment to take another look at ChevronToxico > A Rainforest Chernobyl < this article exemplifies greed and it's effects on the many Indigenous Tribes whose lives hang in the balance!

This is a long link you need to copy but believe me we must try ... together we will honor our Brothers and Sisters as Care Takers for the next generations.

I agree, we need to support and learn from the Kayapo and other indigenous peoples, and change the conditions that lead to the destruction of the rainforests, the "lungs" of the planet.
Thx
