The Obama Administration cannot easily erase the previous Bush Administration's isolationism of Venezuela, as the oil for arms contract deals in Moscow could re-ignite another low-level South American nuclear arms race. Obama intends Colombian operations!

Right, Wrong or Indifferent, this could get so way-far out of control in a FLASH!!!

*Current Probability Equation :

Russia + China + North Korea + Chavez + Iran + Syria + Hamas + Al Qaeda = WWIII/IV = Cyberwar/Nuclear.

Thanks Blue...seems like Chavez is the only one wth a heart. I have much respect for him.

CARACAS, Venezuela (CNN) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says he would be willing to accept prisoners from the Guantanamo Bay detention center, which U.S. President Barack Obama has said he will close, the Venezuelan government said Thursday.

President Obama has pledged to close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

1 of 2 Chavez also said he hopes the United States will give Cuba back the land on which the naval base is located, the government said in a news release.

"We would not have any problem receiving a human being," the government release quoted Chavez as saying in an interview Wednesday with Al Jazeera TV.

The United States obtained the Guantanamo base in 1903, after Spain's surrender in the Spanish-American War of 1898. In 2002, then-President George W. Bush opened the detention center to hold what the Bush administration categorized as enemy combatants captured in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.

U.S. officials have not said what will happen to prisoners at the camp when it closes, nor are there are any known plans for any to be sent to Venezuela.

Chavez attended the second summit of South American and Arab heads of state in Qatar earlier this week.

Speaking about Israel, Chavez said new Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is supported "by the extreme right," the government release said.

"I hope someday the Hebrew people will be liberated from that caste," the release quoted him as saying in the 90-minute Al Jazeera interview.

And you're surprised about this? Chávez has been buying weapons for a long time now. He has befriended other dictators or wanna-be dictators, he has supported candidates in other Latin American countries who think just like him (Evo Morales in Bolivia, Ollanta Humala in Peru, both presidents Kirchner in Argentina). He even supports a candidate of my own country (Uruguay). This candidate was an ex Uruguayan terrorist on the sixties.

Chávez also cancelled TV channels and radio frequencies that were critical toward his government. Freedom of speech? Forget about that. People who voted against him are on a black list now. He's also drowning other political parties.

Oh, and he doesn't think the FARC are terrorists.

He spreads hate, towards the USA and whoever who speaks against him. He uses oil to do whatever he wants, not whatever Venezuela needs. He changed the laws so he can be reelected over and over. I bet he's the next Fidel Castro.

I don't know if he's a threat to the USA. I don't think so. I don't think he's stupid enough to mess with you. But he's contributing to the general political instability of Latin America. Most of us just wish he would go away.

Of course you'll hear good thing about him, from some other people and even Venezuelans (that doesn't surprise me: our educational systems are a failure, and people who like him are just ignorant, easily convinced by his lies). But don't be fooled by that. In Uruguay we get news from him quite often, I've personally heard his speeches, and he's not a good man.

HELLO PEOPLE , I'M FROM ARGENTINA AND MOST OF US CONSIDER THIS GUY SO GREEDY AND CRAZY IN THE BAD WAY, HE THINKS HE WILL CREATE A NEW CUBA AND HE DOESN'T KNOW THAT'S OVER, WAIT! I'M MORE INCLINE TO A HEALTHY SOCIALISM BUT HE IS SICK.......I CAN'T EVEN SEE HIM. HE WANTS THE CONTROL AND POWER. AND THAT'S NOT THE IDEA.

Thanks for the support, Virginia! :-D

Anita, everybody in Venezuela loves Chávez? If so, please explain why so many Venezuelans have protested on the streets against him lately. And please explain how weapons that he bought were found lately in the hands of the FARC. And you could also explain a lot of dirty businesses that were traced right to him. Like that wallet with thousands of dollars that a man tried to take to Argentina to interfere with their elections. Oh, and you could also explain why he talks and acts like a lunatic. Or maybe he's just pretending to be funny?

Anyway, if you love Chávez, at least tell him to stop messing with the rest of Latin America. Gracias.

Sep 2009 Jimmy Carter, a former US president, has said that Washington knew about an abortive coup against Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan president, in 2002, and that it may even have taken part.
