This article explains the root cause behind Iran's decision-making machine. They are preparing for the arrival of the 12th Imam, and Ahmadinejad with the Mullah's blessings has been instructed by doctrine to prepare a road of destruction toward domination

Wow is right Feisty!

I WANT THE WORLD TO LIVE IN PEACE, ---

But after looking deeper into the religious black-hole eyes of the conquering 12th Imam, that are expected by a large sector of Islamic clergy to arrive, which seems to be sucking all hope for an established peace into oblivion, then all I can realistically see happening is an "Iran Attack: Israeli Ex-Defense Minister Sees End-Year Deadline" - C2NN Related Article

Thank you, Sir Robert. I do not like to think on these things because I have active duty military in my family, but it is important information to know.

Robert, have you looked up "The Third Jihad? Please do so. I too prefer peace, but not at that price....

I believe in freedom of religion, but not of that particular brand of believe this or die is hopefully never going to happen in my life.

We as American, Britains, Canadians, members of the EU had better get a grip and get it quick because good things do not lurk in a free people's future.....

Peace Love and Laughter, while we still can......

A very scary example of the violence that organized religion produces.

Well, once again I see fear instilled in a number of Care2 readers by an anti-Iran opinion piece. Has anyone been persuaded now that it's a good idea to bomb Iran's nuclear energy facilities and maybe get WWIII going? Here is a key excerpt of the article:

"Remarkably, the 12th Imam theory plays heavily into the world’s current concerns with Iran. The Shiite Muslim President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, is deeply committed to the Islamic Messiah, al Mahdi. There have been many through the years claiming to be the Hidden Imam but Ahmadinejad believes he is yet to come. He claims that he is to personally prepare the world for the coming Mahdi. In order to save the world, it must be in a state of chaos and subjugation. Ahmadinejad claims he was “directed by Allah to pave the way for the glorious appearance of the Mahdi”. This apocalyptic directive includes some very scary proclamations."

Of course, I could very easily cite some 'apocalyptic directives including some very scary proclamations' from the Holy Bible (particularly the directives of Yahweh in the Books of Moses, and in the Revelations), and as with Islam, some Christians have utilized violent interpretations of the Bible. But, as with Christians, there are many Muslims who reject any violent interpretations of their religious doctrine. Here is Wikipedia's section on the Reappearence of the 12th Imam:

------
"Twelver Shi'as cite various references from the Qur'an and reports, or Hadith, from Imam Mahdi and the twelve Shi'a Imams with regard to the reappearance of al-Mahdi who would, in accordance with God's command, bring justice and peace to the world by establishing Islam throughout the world.

Mahdi is reported to have said:

Shi'as believe that Imam al-Mahdi will reappear when the world has fallen into chaos and civil war emerges between the human race for no reason. At this time, it is believed, half of the true believers will ride from Yemen carrying white flags to Mecca, while the other half will ride from Karbala, in Iraq, carrying black flags to Mecca. At this time, Imam al-Mahdi will come wielding God's Sword, the Blade of Evil's Bane, Zulfiqar (Arabic: ذو الفقار, ðū l-fiqār), the Double-Bladed Sword.

Shi'as believe that Jesus will also come with the Imam Mahdi to destroy tyranny and falsehood, and to bring justice and peace to the world. [12]"

Muhammad al-Mahdi (Redirected from 12th Imam)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12th_Imam
------

Clearly, it is a question of emphasis. Shi'as evidently believe that the 12th Imam will reappear when the world has fallen into chaos and civil war - in order to destroy tyranny and falsehood, and to bring justice and peace to the world. Many Christians believe something similar with respect to Jesus returning in "the end times" and "Armageddon". Does a given Muslim really want to work to bring about the bad stuff, OR to assist Imam al-Mahdi in putting an end to it and bringing justice and peace to the world?

Some Muslims (like some Christians) advocate violent conversion or conquest to bring about the hegemony of their religion. But I'm going to need a lot better sourcing than this opinion piece to believe that this is true of President Ahmadinejad.

The opinion piece goes on to repeat the warmongers' lie that President Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be wiped off the map, as if he was calling for its annihilation as a nation. The claim is false both in its interpretation and its implication. In the first place, he was not speaking of Israel as a nation, he was speaking of the "regime occupying Jerusalem", that is, the present Zionist government of Israel. This is also evident from the context of the speech, which was entitled "The World Without Zionism". Secondly, he did not call for anyone to be "wiped off the map", which is an English idiom having violent and destructive overtones. He called for the Zionist regime to "vanish from" or be "wiped off/away" from the "pages of time/history". He is obviously just calling for a permanent end to the present Zionist regime, something which many others around the world including Jews have called for.

I have a different take on this story - more in a spiritual look. Some points
==============================================================
* Will have a broad forehead and pointed nose
THIS is a very, very common description of Eastern Masters. All those without a breath of scancal have broad foreheads - the pointy nose bit I'm not too sure of

* Will return just before the end of the world
THE end of the world could be the end of one’s physical form - this view is held by many spiritualists

* His appearance will be preceded by a number of prophetic events during 3 years of horrendous world chaos, tyranny and oppression
THE number three is a divine number and held sacred in many religions and philosophies. Christ 'rose from the dead' after three days. The spiritual lower chakras number three and all of them are related to the physical manifestation of form. The Christian Trinitiy etc.

* Will rule over the Arabs and the world for 7 years
THE number seven is also a sacred number. The Hebrew 'candlestick'. The seven chakras.

* Will eradicate all tyranny and oppression bringing harmony and total peace
GOD realisation is a state where no tyranny and oppression can be. Darkness is simply an absence of light.

* Will lead a prayer in Mekkah which Jesus will be at his side and follow in
ALL prophets are ONE, We are all one. What is very interesting here is the omission of the 'trinity'. Only two of them, i.e. the 'Leader', Christ at 'his' side. Where is the third party?

My conclusion
===============
So much of organised religion is based upon pagan beliefs, ratified by various councils. The exclusion of the teachings of re-incarnation is but one of them. Every tom, dick and harry takes a 'spiritual' book and draws from it only that which serves the purpose of POWER gain: Control over other humans gained by insisting upon the intermediary of another human or godlike human between us 'ordinary' mortals.

In my opinion we have no need of intermediaries. One's belief and commune with Source is private, personal, and direct.

To control a human being is so very simple:- Claim access to higher powers and knowledge, and when the ordinary mortal cannot understand or see it becomes the self-fulfilling proof of those who claim exclusive knowledge and communication with Source. A mad person's fantasy is just that - an example being:- 'I went to Mars yesterday, shared a beautiful holiday with all the little green men'. When asked to show some evidence of the trip, none is provided. Then the disbeliever can be told, ah, but you don't have the 'sight' to see - therefore you are inferior.

Nice way to keep humanity by the B.....LS and in a state of constant war: - you don't believe me? ..... OK, that gives me the right to call you inferior, infidel, heretic or whatever, and it also gives me the right to KILL you.

Those who propagate the sanction of war just because of differences of belief are truly delusional. A contradiction - absolute hocus-pocus.

Just to let everyone know that my comments on this post have been removed by care2 ...they were not insulting in my opinion, as that really isn't my style. They have also gone from my sent box (maybe that happens when deleted) HOWEVER Robert obviously cant take being challenged on this propaganda, that is pretty pathetic too.

As far as I'm concerned I have no use for either Islam or Fundamentalist Christians, or Catholics for that matter. All of them have so-called holy books written by patriarchal old men who found a way to take all power away from women and blame all bad stuff on them and put them in their place!!!! Now they are fighting amongst themselves over who is the proper god to worship. So I don't worship!!!!

Fear mongering is Power mongering. In my opinion there is no need for an intermediary between myself and my Creator. By allowing others to be 'superior' spiritually we give away our spirit - our freedom.

I think the people that think it's OK to kill people because they don't do things the Islamic Way have been Brainwashed from the day they are born to the day they are dead. The arrival of the 12th Imam are part of the brainwashing they get. In all my life I have seen a lot of people tell everyone the Earth is ending today, or God will send you to Hell if you don't do it the Bible and so own. There is so much "BS" going around in this country that I do think our Fathers who went to battle in WW2 and gave their lives to keep America Strong and Free was for one reason only and that was to give us a better Country to live and have no fear of other country's trying to run our lives with what ever they think the way things should be! I do know this for sure, our country is at war everyday and the war is not just being fought by a group of "DING BATS" it's being fought by a bunch of American Men and Women who will give their lives for America!. The Bad Guys are the Islamic People who only know evil and they will kill this country off if the people here in America don't wake up and smell the evil that stakes our "America" Right Before our Eyes!!! The young people in this great country that our fathers and mothers gave us is now in the hands of a new kind of American people and they have been told to much that we are strong and no one will take us own! In other country's now they laugh at us and show no respect for us anymore. Why do you think it's that way? Well I'll tell you the answer! The people who run America now and the people who carry the vote are a young group of American People who have never had to face people who ask no question until you are dead! The people like that will even tell you they are coming and half of them are already here!! "Don't Ask What Your Country Can Do For You, Ask What You Can Do For Your Country" Larry "Indian Boy"Grazier" * I'M PROUD TO Be AN AMERICAN*
