Several things have now set the world in motion for one of the worst price run-ups in the price of oil per/barrel, and all coming by the second half of 2009.

I can't wait. Seems to me global warming, and corporate greed go hand in hand. The planet will trump in the end. If we were so stupid to squander our resourses we are to blame.

What if you americans should pay twice as much for gas, as now?
In Sweden we have done just that for a long time.
In Venezuela the gas is almost for free...so...?

Peak Oil suggests that petroleum prices must increase as more people can buy (and uuse) internal combustion engines.
Global Warming suggests governments ought to tax petroleum to discourage its use. That Europe is still buying internal combustion engines suggests Europe, let alone other national governments, are not taxing petroleum enough to discourage its use.
Given the carcinogenic properties attributed to burning petroleum, any government is justified in taxing petroleum to any extent possible.
