THis bill had been blocked for like two years because of that guy. It is great to be able to have some environmental protection that the people demand actually approved, Yeah, This year is going to be fun!The bill -- actually 160 bills rolled into one -- had been blocked by filibuster and the threat of filibuster by a single Senator - Republican Tom Coburn or Oklahoma. Coburn didn't make the League of Conservation Voters list of the "Dirty Dozen" lawmakers who had voted consistently against environmental protection, but he has a dismal voting record, having scored no better than 11%, by LCV's estimation, since 2005.

Your welcome. I think WE really need to start hearing more about protecting the little forest we have left here in America and finding new ways like Hemp, etc. to get our paper. This plays almost as big a role as our runaway energy consumption.
Half of OUR planets original forests have dissapeared, of what remains only 10% is protected. Now that has to change quick, as well as some planting. We need to figure out how to let more people know that the trees give us oxegyn and what is occuring. I wish we could deploy our military to the amazon rainforest to guard it till enough figure it out. I believew awareness is higher than WE may suspect, this year is going to be great for ALL of us and the environment. I AM very excited....

While I applaud the passage of the bills to preserve our wilderness areas. I doubt if Congress saw fit to remove all of the frivilous pork bills attached to them which, by the way, is why they were being blocked in the first place.
