Herenton has been the Memphis mayor for 17 years. That means he was mayor when acute mentally ill heart patient Larry Neal "disappeared" under secret arrest in Shelby County Jail in 2003.

Thanks to Care2 News Network and people who CARE, perhaps the shoud of secrecy surrounding my brother's euthanasia is getting through.

We entered a FIOA Request to the USDOJ on May 7, and the response is DUE if the agency intends to keep to President Obama's policy for open disclosure and equal justice.

Larry Neal was an inconvenience to Memphis police who were sick of "fooling" with the schizophrenic man who was one of the hundreds of thousands of mental patients who was turned out of the mental institutions in the 1970's when Regan was president. Some lived homeless, most went to prison, and Larry was in and out of Shelby Co. Jail for inappropriate behavior until police finally arrested him, lied to his family for 18 days saying that Larry was not arrested until he died without his psychiatric drugs.

If they used Tasers or a Restraint Chair to kill Larry, his family does not know, because we have been DENIED all records of his arrest and death for nearly six years!

We thought we were getting the records because we contracted with The Johnnie Cochran Firm to sue Shelby County Jail. But The Cochran Firm tricked our elderly mother. The law firm's managing partner was a Shelby Co. Commissioner and was in overview of the jail. THE COCHRAN FIRM NEVER FILED LARRY'S WRONGFUL DEATH LAWSUIT, but merely held our case inactive while the statute ran. But the firm wrote Larry's mom and sister about a "vigorous discovery process" being underway. Liers!

Shelby County Government was to give the USDOJ detailed reports of any inmate deaths under the terms of its Agreement related to USA v. Shelby County Jail, a lawsuit brought by the government due to Shelby County Jail's horrible history of abusing inmates.

Remember how Memphis police beat poor DUANNA JOHNSON, the transgender woman last year and the tape of that abuse went all over the world? THEY HATE ANYONE WHO IS "DIFFERENT" IN ANY WAY! She was murdered shortly before the deadline to file her lawsuit against the jail. That was a few weeks after folks could not get me when I was accosted at the Georgia Chevron station by four vehicles and 1 US DOT truck, called 911 and police did not come.

When we sued The Cochran Firm for its fraud in GA Superior Court, The Cochran Firm's Atlanta office DENIED ITS OWN EXISTENCE - claimed to be no part of The Cochran Firm and that our suit was served wrongly. Judge Wendy Shoob then dismissed our lawsuit with the law firm only a brisk walk from her office - the most famous law firm in Georgia.

Shelby County omitted telling the USDOJ about Larry Neal's death, but his family reported to the USDOJ. THEY USDOJ WAS UNDER AN ADMINISTRATION THAT CARED NOTHING AT ALL ABOUT THE LIVES OF PRISONERS - WHETHER IN GUANTANAMO BEY OR MEMPHIS, TENN. It made no differnce that Larry Neal was certainly not a terrorist, but a handicapped American citizen!

The USDOJ allowed Shelby Co. Jail to omit Larry's secret arrest and death on reports to the feds that happened subsequent to communicating with Larry's family about his demise. Fraudulent reports!

Mainstream media omits reporting any of this - the two lawsuits against The Cochran Firm for its fraud, the fact that the law firm said it did not exist in Georgia, the secret arrest and wrongful death of an acute mental patient in a U.S. jail.

Thank God for Care2 News Network - they won't be able to keep it secret forever! Citizens journalism is important for issues the higher-ups want to bury to continue injustices like this.

Thank you so very much, my dear friends. Thank you for all your encouragement and support. Trapped at home like I am, I don't know what I would do without you to confide in when I suffer. This is the "new" America, and I hope we can turn away from this fascist direction under the Obama administration.

I will be able to let you know in a few days if we have an administration that really upholds "open disclosure." It took intervention by my senator to make the USDOJ answer a letter from my family in 2007. The Bush Admin. USDOJ answered the letter 18 MONTHS AFTER I WROTE THEM, and the USDOJ reiterated that it had gotten no records on Larry's death from the jail, but it refused to investigate Larry's death. No real answers.

Obama's USDOJ wrote that we would have its response within 20 business days of their letter to me. We will see. Today is the 20th business day. We will allow some mail days before we feel betrayed again.

WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK IT IS OK TO ABUSE OR KILL MENTAL PATIENTS?

I want to add that Duanna Johnson, who Memphis police officers beat on film last year and she was murdered in November, was NOT mentally ill. She was a transgender person. People should be allowed to be DIFFERENT without being murdered!

The injustice to your brother and to your family is new news to me and I am saddened that anything like this could happen. The cover-up that ensued and the inaction of the mainstream media does not come as a surprise to me. I can't begin to imagine the anguish this has caused you and your family Mary. I hope that the mayor's resignation and the fact that this story is seeing some light and a lot of support give you some comfort and that you will celebrate each small success. Regarding newspaper articles, we called The Cochran Firm the day Larry died, and they told us not to talk to anyone about it. We thought we had lawyers we could trust, so we obeyed. They were keeping it out of the news.

I commented at the article in the Memphis Flyer and told about Larry's death. It posted. If you want to see what I wrote, I put it at the site of this article at NowPublic.com. Just hit the "VISIT SITE" green button above.

Anyway, Memphis Flyer posted my comment. Then when they read it, they took it down before Memphis could find out that the administrators there had a secret death of one of their handicapped citizens, my brother, Larry. See below what is on the web when you Google "Mary Neal Mayor Herenton." But when you go to the link, MY COMMENT IS GONE, AND THE NEWSPAPER CLOSED THE WHOLE ARTICLE FOR ACCEPTING COMMENTS.

So now, because of me, none of the citizens in Memphis will get a chance to say what they think about Herenton resigning at that report.

Do you know what the mainstream Memphis newspaper did? It is called the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

The reports about the federal hearings to release Shelby Co. Jail from federal overview that were held in 2005 were deleted from the newspaper's online archive pages.

I guess they want to pretend the federal hearings never happened when the USDOJ allowed Memphis officials to lie and say there had been no deaths. The USDOJ knew the jail was lying from my communication with them. Several letters went back and forward between me and the USDOJ with Larry's death certificate, SSN# and everything. SO WHY DID THE USDOJ ALLOW SHELBY CO. JAIL TO OMIT REPORTING ABOUT LARRY? THIS MADE THE REPORTS THEY GAVE BE FRAUDULENT, YOU SEE?

Many of you

know from my advocacy at Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill here at Care2 that I have reported some horrible things done to mental patients.

Some are Tasered to death. Some die in Restraint chairs, and some are shot by police during lunacy arrests.

We all saw how the police there beat Duanna Johnson on film. If not, Google "Duanna Johnson Transgender Memphis Police" That should get you to a film of the beating.

The families get reports on all of the dead inmates. They are told what happened. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO LARRY MUST HAVE BEEN WORSE THAN ALL OF THAT.

What did they do to Larry ?

WHAT HAPPENED TO LARRY NEAL?

Did they shoot him up with bleach?

Did they starve him to death in that 18 days? This is my mom's recurring nightmare about her son. 18 days is about what it takes to dehydrate and die of starvation if you already are weak like Larry.

He had a bad heart and needed his heart meds.

Were they beating him when his heart gave out from fear?

Did he have hallucinations without his psychiatric drugs and die of fright from the images in his own mind?

WHY DON'T BLACK PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT POLICE DID TO THEIR RELATIVES?

ARE WE BACK IN SLAVERY WHEN BLACK FAMILY AFFECTION DID NOT MATTER?

JUST SELL CHILDREN FROM THEIR PARENTS, HUSBANDS FROM THEIR WIVES, AND WIVES TO A MAN WHO ADMIRED HER BREASTS?

WHY DON'T OUR FAMILY COUNT? WE ARE NOT TERRORISTS. WE ARE U.S. CITIZENS AND ON TAX DAY, YOU SEND FOR OUR MONEY WITH YOUR TAX FILING PAPERS!

Do you remember, Care2,

when I reported about the Shelby County Medical Examiner who was indicted because he kidnapped himself and put explosives and notes on his body and taped his head in barbed wire and the notes were saying he lied in a capital murder case? When it was time for the man to be executed who he had apparently testified falsely against, Dr. O.C. Smith had a bout of conscious.

His Notes said, "Dr. Smith lied."

The man who was executed claimed that it was another police officer who shot the police officer he was on death row about. His name was PHILLIP WORKMAN. You can look up the case online. The medical examiner was Dr. O.C. Smith.

Well, when Larry Neal died, Dr. O.C. Smith was the Shelby Co. Medical Examiner, someone who may have lied to protect police even though it meant the death penalty to Phillip Workman.

We cannot trust the medical examiner's report out of Dr. Smith's office. Even though the partial copy that is all they would send me said Larry had vegetables in his stomach, we do not know if that was so.

Maybe he did starve to death.

Larry's body was naked, so they knew he had mental conditions - that is how they treat jailed mental patients.

How come they lied when the social worker called and we sent the missing person report for the missing mental patient they had many times before.

I discovered today that they skipped about 6 minutes or more of the speech.

They skipped everything about the dogs and water hoses and the need for people of all races to join together and stand up for what they believes is right

WHY ARE THOSE THE PARTS OF DR. KING'S SPEECH THE ESTABLISHMENT HATES?

I hope that justice is on its way, Songbird. Some ladies prayed for my mother recently. They prayed that she be finally told what was done to Larry and give her the due process of law and respect of a citizen in the country where she has spent her 86 years and raised her family.

We just want what Michael Vick's dogs got, Songbird. Investigation and due process of law.

It is good when politicians who are not serious about upholding their oaths of office leave their positions. A mayor has all the citizens as constituents - not just the healthy ones.

I don't know if Herenton resigning means the USDOJ will do the right thing about Larry or not. The Bush admn. DOJ dodged accountability and helped hide Larry's murder, just like Guantanamo.

We are working class people. It is hard to get justice if you are not wealthy in America. You know that. But the mayor suddenly resigning like this gives us some hope . . .

If we do finally get treated equal to Michael Vick's dogs -- like we matter -- then it will only be because of my Care2 friends.

Those politicians are so sure that the news of Larry Neal's secret murder will never get out that Julian Bolton, Esq., was the managing partner of The Cochran Firm's Memphis office and the Shelby County Commissioner when we took Larry's case to that law firm and it defrauded us.

He ran for Congress in 2006, while we were suing the firm in Georgia Superior Court under Judge Wendy Shoob for its fraud. You see, he probably already knew how the case would come out. Judge Shoob threw our case out saying THERE WAS NO COCHRAN FIRM IN ATLANTA, with the firm wide open for business every day just spitting distance from her office.

Yesterday, in the Memphis Flyer, I posted my response to Herenton's resignation. THE NEWSPAPER TOOK MY COMMENTS DOWN AND CLOSED THE COMMENTS ON THE ARTICLE.

Mainstream news helps to cover-up Larry Neal's death, you see. Without the cooperation of the news agencies, corrupt politicians would all be out of business.

I am going to post it around in other mainstream news and see how many take it down and close their comments fields. That is what happens.

Larry's case relates to the Bush Admn. - Gonzales was indicted for taking bribes to withhold USDOJ investigations here in America, just as he is now in hot water for using the DOJ to torture people.

They are all very powerful, and they work to censure the news about Larry.

Larry Neal's case proves that authorities do not care if detainees are terrorists or not - they just love to kill people. Then they use their power to suppress the news in the media.

This is the type of censorship that happens to protect the corrupt politicians in Memphis and those who were in Washington who helped them cover up Larry's death. Try posting the comment yourself and you will see.

Folks who help cover up a murder are accessories after the fact. They are also guilty of the murder if they help to hide it. Not only do they need to resign, they should be sent to prison.

UNDERSTAND PLEASE,

These people who work so hard to censor news of Larry's death know that I am posting it on the Internet, and they know that it gets out to a limited degree anyway.

That is why they planned to kill me, also.

The judges kept our civil cases from going forward in court. Judge Shoob said there was no such thing as a GA office of The Cochran Firm

Judge Batten of USDC said everything The Cochran Firm did to prevent our lawsuit against Shelby Co. Jail was "immaterial."

Meanwhile, The Cochran Firm was not filing any pleadings in the USDC case.

Maybe they thought it would not be necessary. I was being stalked everywhere I went. Finally, I was waylayed at the Chevron station and called 911, and they likely arranged for the police to ignore me. No police came when all those men surrounded me.

They still hope to suppress this news. That means to me that they still hope to get rid of my mom and me and any of our family that rises up and tells about Larry Neal's murder in Memphis Shelby Co. Jail.

When I wrote about being followed everywhere I went, I had affidavits from others who witnessed it (I only go to very public places, because I know they are dangerous).

Cochran Firm attorney Angela Mason wrote a pleading in USDC and said that law firm did not have a Caucasian man in a WHITE van hired to follow me.

I never told anyone the COLOR of the vehicle. How did she know? Do they teach ESP in law schools?

I wrote a pleading telling the Court that I never gave anyone the color of the vehicle, and there was only one way for that lawyer to know.

Judge Batten ignored it.

The authorities work together to suppress news of Larry's murder to protect the Bush USDOJ. That is also who The Cochran Firm was protecting when it took our case in order to let the time pass and do nothing.

I am going to sue some of the media for inviting public comment and then either deleting mine or preventing mine from posting. This is illegal suppression of my First Amendment right. I will begin with the Memphis Flyer. It is only fitting that a Memphis media be first, since they are the media that first knew about Larry Neal's murder and did not report it.

Since I wrote about the Memphis Flyer removing my comment, it has now removed even the link that was on the Internet. Too late. Many people already saw it and I have it on film and in print.

That is the trouble with censorship in the 21st century. It is easy to trace and prove with just a cellphone with a video camera.

Thanks, Marylee. I don't really know if this is about Larry's secret murder in Shelby Co. Jail. Herenton is also under investigation for some other offenses. They persist in trying to censor Larry's death, but we are breaking through that this week. It has gone on long enough.

We tolerated it while we were in court against The Cochran Firm thinking that we would get justice from the court process, but NOT! They seem to have had that on lockdown also, judging by the judges rulings - 1) No Cochran Firm in GA and 2) Breach of contract, undisclosed conflict of interest, and perjury in court were all ruled "immaterial" in USDC.

BUT THEN, GUESS WHAT? WHILE THEY WERE SAYING THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS A COCHRAN FIRM IN MEMPHIS, THEY HAD TO REIMBURSE MY MOM AND ME FOR SOMETHING BY COURT ORDER

AND WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY DID? THEY WROTE THE CHECK ON "THE COCHRAN FIRM - MEMPHIS OFFICE."

Some people just can't get perjury right.

In fact, he ruled that everything The Cochran Firm did to trick my mom and me while the statute of limitations was running out on our case was "immaterial." I don't think it is only because Mr. Bush appointed him, but some folks in my family think that.

i can't stand he thought of you and your mom living in fear. maybe the gov. or the cochran firm are keeping tabs on you, but if they were going to hurt you, they would have done it by now. it's been so long, and all the info is out there. and, if they were going to kill you, they'd just bust down the door, shoot you, and plant a gun. they wouldn't waste time and money watching you every second of the day. you have to get back your life, or at least the part of it that allows you to freely come and go.

Catherine, thanks. I thought what you do - that I could go and come freely again because probably 100,000 folks know about this and I notified all the authorities. But my hopes were dashed a couple of months ago.

I wrote about it in my sharebook. Some of my friends might remember. I was out of cigarettes - terrible habit. I waited until daylight when kids were out waiting for their rides to school and people were going to work. I suppose it was about 6:30 or 7 a.m. As I left home, THREE cars came and were going on my route. One pulled out of a driveway and was in front of me.

This meant nothing, except that as the one in front of me tooted its horn as we drove by a VACANT HOUSE WITH OVERGROWN GRASS. A red vehicle pulled out. The man had his window rolled down. He was looking at me so intently as he came out of the driveway that he turned too wide and almost went on the curb. I am not all that cute, so why would a man nearly wreck his car looking at me? Why was he waiting at a vacant house?

People probably still use my computer or monitor my phone to know when I plan to leave home. That is how they used to do it. For about six months, the microphone feature was open on my computer and I could not close it. I tried to change the language to something obscure, but they would change it back to English. I bought another computer, but within the first day, the microphone icon opened on it, also.

Anyway, Catherine, when the car in front of me blew for the car that came out of the driveway of the vacant house, I did a U-turn to return home. I did not want to be waylaid at a store again. There was a school bus going my direction, so I fell in line behind the school bus for protection, and I made it home. That episode let me know that folks were still interested in following me.

FYI - I always would drive slow and observe all the traffic around me when I drove. Even when folks tail me. I would just try to pull in at the nearest place that was well populated. If anyone ever tries to tell you I was speeding to run from folks, they are lying. I never speed.

Catherine, I don't think it is the "government." I know a USDOT truck is a government vehicle, but I figure someone had hired that one man for illegal purposes.

I agree that if the real government wanted somebody gone, they would be gone. These are illegal people who the government will not control or prosecute for some reason. I cannot understand why police will not investigate them or why the feds program that investigates cyberterrorism won't answer my application for assistance. They seem to be ALLOWED by the government. There is a minute difference.

If America has turned facsist and decided to kill off its disabled citizens without their families having legal recourse, it helps just to be able to discuss it.

Frankly, I think all Americans and people who care about human rights should be alarmed about the secret arrest and wrongful death of Larry Neal. What happened to the Constitution?

I am supposed to get a response to our FIOA Request to the USDOJ within 20 business days of May 28. That has already passed. We will know from Larry's case whether the Obama DOJ intends to uphold the Bill of Rights or continue to divest Americans of our rights that happened under the previous administration.

~ Shelby Co. Government won't release records

~ The Cochran Firm signed contract and worked with the jail to prevent disclosure and lawsuit

~ The USDOJ worked with Shelby Co. Jail to prevent disclosure and wihhold investigation

~ The judges at GA Sup. Ct. and USDC Northern District of Ga (Judges Shoob and Batten) dismissed our lawuit against The Cochran Firm for fraud, and

~ Judge Batten, USDC, allowed Shelby Co. Jail to ignore the federal subpoena to release records on Larry

~ The USDOJ is now overdue for responding to our Freedom of Information Act request for information regarding Larry's wrongful death cover-up. The FIOA Request is at the link below. Take time to read it, please.

My family has over 800 signatures on our petition to the USDOJ for an investigation regarding Larry's death, which should not even need a petition - it is their JOB to protect incarcerated persons from abuse and murder.

I think we need to raise a reward. Then maybe some of the people in jail with him or who worked at the jail will come forward and tell us how they killed him.

Well, I wish I knew. It sounds very wrong indeed. They should surely release the records according to the law. Sounds like they are hiding something. Perhaps someone in the jail will be stricken with it weighing on their conscience and want to come forward...

I'm praying to whatever divine power might be out there that you will get answers.
