This is so very tragic. I suppose this unfortunate woman did not realize it was necessary to give up her life and stay home the way I have done in order to stay safe.

We made the two Cochran Firm Fraud videos for protection, to get past the censorship surrounding the things that happen in Shelby County Jail and the elaborate cover-up that occurred after the secret incarceration and wrongful death of my mentally ill brother there.

We only made the videos after I was followed by up to four cars and 911 would not come when I called for help. Memphis/Shelby County Jail is the 3rd largest jail in the nation. The USDOJ was in overview of the jail after past abuses against inmates, but even this federal agency refuses to investigate Larry's secret death there.

Let us all pray for Ms. Johnson. She did not deserve this just for being "different," and neither did my brother, or the victims of three other federal lawsuits against the Memphis Police and Shelby County Jail.

I read this last night and was appalled! I hope her family won't give up the fight and will continue with the lawsuit. The whole thing sounds suspicious to me... My condolences to her family...

IF NOT HER FAMILY,

THEN I HOPE ONE OF THE GAY/LESBIAN/TRANSGENDER GROUPS WILL UNDERTAKE HER CAUSE AND CONTINUE HER LAWSUIT. LOOK UP THE LAW OF SUBSTITUTION. ONE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE RELATED TO UNDERTAKE ANOTHER'S FIGHT FOR CIVIL RIGHTS AFTER THEIR DEATH.

In Atlanta, an attorney was angry after the death of a little boy who was placed with an unworthy family by the Dept. of Human Services. He was not related to the boy - not even the same race, and he sued on the boy's behalf.

Here is the update you were not meant to see. I WAS NOT ALLOWED by those who have taken over my computer to update my article on Ms. Johnson. This is the data they did not want posted. I keep nothing to myself on these matters, because I feel it is infinitely better to not be seen as a threat to anyone by having secret information. DISCLOSURE is my family's protection, the way I see it.

UPDATE - 11-09-08

For one thing, I called the office of Duanna Johnson's attorney to report the jail's previous history regarding persons who are somehow "different." The telephone was answered by a receptionist on tape who stated the names of Duanna Johnson's attorneys, and JULIAN BOLTON, ESQ. I was shocked, as Julian Bolton was also the attorney who was managing partner of the Memphis office of The (Johnnie) Cochran Firm when that law firm contracted with my mother following the wrongful death of Larry Neal (if this is the same man). The Cochran Firm neglected to tell my family - its clients - that Mr. Bolton was also a 20+year Shelby County Commissioner, and that the Shelby County Commission owns and operates the jail where Larry Neal died and where Ms. Johnson was badly beaten. Hopefully, that was not the SAME Julian Bolton, Esq. who apparently shared an office or receptionist with Duanna Johnson's attorneys.

Secondly, weeks after Officer McRae beat Duanna Johnson on film, Internet news reports were that Officer McRae was considering placing a lawsuit against his previous employer because he damaged his hand beating Ms. Johnson. There was also a video with the news report. Unfortunately, I failed to report on that development the very day that I saw it, and like many other things that happen related to Memphis/Shelby County Jail, the information does not seem to be readily available now.

MS. DUANNA JOHNSON WAS MURDERED. The news story at the link below reports "Duanna Johnson was found dead November 9, 2008 a few blocks from her home. She was shot in the head, execution style."

Ms. Johnson's relatives or even a non-relative may consider continuing with her lawsuit under the LAW OF SUBSTITUTION. I understand that it is not necessary that one who does so has to be a relative.

MS. DUANNA JOHNSON's Family or someone need to find a lawyer outside of Selby county. It would seem that these people are all interconnected with each other. They may even be better off if they went out of state to find the help they need. It would seem that the Selby County Jail has not improved any sense your brother was there.

Mary, my heart and prayers for both your and Miss Johnson's families to get the closure and justice that you all deserve to have. I linked to a blog I read on this subject the other day, and am thankful to have read one with the factual events of the case as opposed to just the personal opinion of the outraged blogger, though I share her feelings and sentiments about justice in this case. Also i think you re a very brave woman to stand up to what seems to be a more and more dangerously corrupt law enforcement system down there in Memphis. Stay brave and keep up the fight. We all back you I'm sure.

This news story made front page, because you CARE.

You show that you care about justice to all people, not just folks who look like you or share your sexual preferences. Ms. Johnson did not deserve to die for being "different" (she was a transgender person).

My brother did not deserve to be secretly arrested and die because he was "different" (he was schizophrenics).

Other people who have suffered and died in Shelby County Jail or by Memphis Police did not deserve to have this happen to them for being "different." See three more cases of deaths and abuse to mentally ill or "different" people at this link:

Be reminded that the USDOJ was in overview of the Memphis/Shelby Co. Jail when my mentally ill brother was secretly arrested and died there 18 days later, after lying to us during that period and denying having him, realizing his heart needed prescription drugs. But the USDOJ REFUSES to investigate Larry Neal's death. Why?

Why was a US DOT truck with the cars that followed me and cornered me in the Chevron station?

I have no answers, but I just think Americans should know and demand CHANGE!

hello Mary my heart goes out to the family I feel so bad. Mary I no what you are going threw every time I raise hell with the DA that lied and put my son in prison for life thing happen to my family My house the only one I ever was able to buy was set on fire while we were at church and burned to the ground, the fire department never even came to the house,my dog who I loved was poisoned and died we have had to move many times and still I keep fighting and I will not stop till my son is home,I just picketed the court house again and I pray we will be safe,but no matter what they do I will not stop fighting for my son. NOW THEY GOT DUANNA JOHNSON, and she was suing Shelby Co. Jail - the folks The Cochran Firm was supposed to sue for us behind Larry's wrongful death.

Does anyone still think I am paranoid?
