"As a person of faith, I am writing to ask you to extend the Production Tax Credit (PTC) for wind energy. I understand it will expire at the end of 2012, and tens of thousands of American jobs are already at stake due to uncertainty over whether or not it will be renewed."

"My religion calls me toward responsible stewardship of Godís Creation. Our nation needs clean energy from wind and other renewable sources to reverse global warming and the harmful health effects of burning fossil fuels. Wind energy has been a bright spot amid our tough economy, but Congressí failure to renew the PTC means wind energy companies and their employees face layoffs and lost opportunities. This makes no sense at a time when the PTC has bipartisan support and our nation needs to save jobs."
All of the above is from the petition.

Gladly signed. Our city is opening 850 long term jobs for solar power as we already have a solar farm in use.

Why we don't outright cancel tax deals for the petrochemical and coal industries and put that money into drilling geothermal hotwells for steam power and developing bird- and bat-safe windmills and cetacean-safe ocean current turbines, I'll never figure out. Subsidise installing Climax preheaters on roofs, not oil wells in the Arctic!

Wind Energy can be very effective if implemented correctly. So far this administration has proved it don't have a clue about wind energy! Nor Solar! We have lived almost entirely on wind and solar energy since 1996/1997..it takes someone who KNOWS what the hell they are doing in order to make both of them effective. After seeing the total loss of BILLIONS of dollars in this administration because of a lack of knowledge as to how the both of them work and work in concert with EACH OTHER I would say possibly it might be time to go at this in a slower pace as to not over burden the American tax payer! Which is what has been done the past over 3 and a half years!!! Further more in combating Global Warming..how can that be when the ORIGINAL guy who claimed Global Warming has come out and said it was a HOAX! It is false!! This is not me saying this...this is the guy who first made the claim of Global Warming. COMMON SENSE people...please USE common sense!!

The wind turbines kill hundreds of thousands of birds. They hide the information because if the public knew the public would be up in arms! There are better ways to produce clean energy.

Some people are doing research on wind turbines and wind.
THE WIND TURBINES NEED TO BE PLACE IN PLACES WHERE THE BIRDS DO NOT FLY INTO THEM AND/OR SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE SO THE BIRDS FLY AROUND THE WIND TURBINES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS!
