Story of Lumpy the Feral Ginger Cat

Animals  (tags: cats, GoodNews, goodnews, pets )

- 1829 days ago -
A feral ginger cat came into a family's life when they discovered that he came to their porch for food. Over the next 7 years, he gradually opened up to the family and eventually allowed them to rub his belly, which became one of his favourite things.

He is purrrfect!
If everyone did this there would be no need to euthanize so many animals.

He is so adorable :) We used to have one female cat whose owner died and she became strayed. We left food out for her twice daily but she never let us touch her except one time, she came to use for help. She was pregnant and was in labor but one of baby died in the womb and obstructed the birth canal. She was in pain and bleeding, that was the only time she came meowwing in front of our door. We took her to animal hospital ER. She had emergency operation (and of course, we had her spayed). Sadly, none of babies survived (one died and the other 2 lived only for less than a week).

Lumpy is a beautiful boy, but I worry that he will become friendly with every person he meets. There are some really BAD people out there who would hurt him in a heartbeat.
We had a stray who I would feed every day and night. I kept moving her bowl closer and closer to our door. It was going down to freezing one night, so grabbed her up and brought her in the house. She must have liked it inside since she has never once tried to go back out in the past 11 years - LOL!

Such a touching and beautiful story, it brought tears to my eyes...I wish eyery homeless Animals had someone like this person to look after them...I'm working on a stray around my house now, I fed him everyday, but he won't let me get close to him, I do try to make myself available to him, and to show him, I will not hurt him...He seems to be relaxing a little bit,he is letting me get a little closer, but no petting yet...He knows I feed him, and he kind of hangs around my house and sits on the front steps to enjoy the Sun...He's about 4 or 5 Months old, and completely gray with green eyes...I'd love to take him in, although I do have another Cat, I guess it would take awhile to get them together...I'm gonna keep trying though, I have developed some feelings for the little guy and I'd love to give him a forever home...

Beautiful peoples and beautiful Lumpy. I hope more peoples will treat stray animals like this instead of calling animals control.
