Poor babe was being starved in utero thus the reason for an emergency birth probably to save the mother's life. My granddaughter was born at 25 1/2 weeks at 539 grams (1 lb 3 oz) which is smaller than most babies at that age but just that added weight showed she was getting nourishment until the last few days before her emergency birth. A healthy fetus of 25 weeks has a 80% chance of survival now with proper medical treatment. A healthy fetus of 21 weeks has survived premature birth. It was finding this out first hand that changed my opinion of abortion. I still believe in a woman's choice because I don't have the right to dictate to others how they live their life. However, the cut off date for abortion needs to be even lower than 20 weeks. They do feel pain and they respond to their mother's voice so there is brain activity. My granddaughter is 2 years old and advanced for her age. The only signs of her extremely premature birth is she's still on the small side, but is growing and the doctor predicts she will be about 5' 3 to 4.

Good morning little princess. I hope that you can grow and feel strong. I wish that you can get out of hospital sane and that your mother can be happy. I'll send you lot of kisses.

And how much will it cost to keep this child in hospital until it can go home? Reducing the terms for legal abortion simply because one child happened to survive at 8 ounces is ridiculous. What kind of life are you risking?
