Simone, I don't know when I have ever felt so devasted over an animal abuse case. You know how many terrible ones that have been on care 2. I cried so hard over Peanut my eyes were swollen and I have literally been haunted by it ever since. These men are beasts! Absolute sadists. They shouldn't be allowed to be in civilized society ever, ever again. Even the maximum on the books will never be enough for me. Two years for what they did to Peanut? Are you kidding? The mere thought that they might not even get that is more than I can bear.

The laws are way to lenient on these pieces of shit that do this kind of thing to innocent animals. Enough is enough already! Serious jail time for these offenders, NOW!

I can't even finish the story. I'm at work and don't want to completely lose it, bawling. This is heartbreaking. I can't believe people like this exist. These are the people who need to be behind bars for years to come. Someone who would ever do this to an innocent little animal, would probably not think twice before doing this to a human being. I hope they get locked up for the maximum time possible, which isn't enough time.

Only sick people will do these terrible things to animals. I always thought that the cruelty laws were to weak, if the government made the laws 50% stronger in fines and 100% stronger in jail time with no early release and long parole times, maybe these crimes would happen less often. I am appalled at the careless demeanor of these 2 men.

Kristen, go to this link, quickly sign. I have read some horrific cruelty towards animals but this one of Peanut haunts me- can not stop thinking about what they done, trying not too but it keeps coming back. These two are pure evil. In May they will be coming up again for trial.

I live in Australia and spent a lot of time in Qld. There is a red neck culture there. What is obvious is that these two made no attempt to hide their crime. In fact they displayed it - leaving video footage and evidence on a park bench for the police to find. This suggests they were not afarid to be caught- probably because they knew how pathetic the animal cruelty penalties are in Australia. They had nothing to fear. Hopefully, the justice system will show it has some balls

I wish they would stop pussy footing around and CONVICT these creeps. I think that animal cruelty law for this type of sadistic torture should be LIFE IN PRISON!!!!!Not two measley years.

I am very encouraged by the number of signatures for Peanut at the petition site. It is over 63,000. I want to see it make the goal of 100,000. It is at least some small comfort to me to see so many as outraged as I am over his brutal, brutal death.
