More Kaimanawa horses are likely to be culled this year as the Department of Conservation aims to reduce the herd size. Previously annual musters have kept the herd down to about 500 to keep the horse population healthy and prevent damage to threatened

No wild horses in any country are safe. US mustangs, Australia- brumbies, now New Zealand- Kaimanawa horses. They want to slaughter them all!

It continues to amaze and sicken me how humans think we can control nature, everything from animal populations to manufactured landscapes. But, yet we don't see how overpopulated humans have become!! There's nobody here to control or cull us, is there?
