Its unfortunate that so many of the foods they list are highly processed, like rice soy and almond milks, seitan, veggie hotdogs, or from remote locales, like coconuts and avocados. This might work for some in some regions, but i would hope some vegans would try to source their food from a little closer to home.

Eating a healthy diet should certainly take into account animals rights and compassion, as well as transportation costs, and the vibrancy of the food (Processed foods of any kind are stale and promote disease). A vegan diet should never trump the individuals intuition--eat with your stomach, not your head.

The "feel good" factor really comes across in this article. Being vegan is cool, shopping around for food is fun and preparing it is great. I recently bought some vegan gravy and what a pleasant surprise - it tasted gorgeous.
Thanks for the information.
