Simone--I am against animal abuse/neglect in any form, including factory farming. I've signed all the petitions and letters, etc., etc., etc. However, I should point out that the H1N1 virus--the "swine flu"--does not, and has never, had anything to do with swine. It was called swine flu because it first affected people living near a pig farm, but any connection with the pigs has been ruled out.

these flu strains are manifesting because we are cruel in the way that we treat animals on farms... Governments need to get involved and put strict laws in governing these harmful and cruel practices

We have a couple of farmers onboard with shocking stories. Cowboss is in the thick of revelations and knows others with more.
The pandemic...followers of the newsboard know i think that a scam. I got an email from a member a while back that I posted on Livejournal that will blow your socks off. That's in addition to what's running by Opit's LinkFest!

I signed! Factory farming should sicken everyone who learns about it.
Thankyou for posting this information.
People need messages like this, so that we may bring out the inate humanity in us all.
This is the power to heal, which I hope will eventually overcome our ability to destroy.

Its a good petition but its only one reason for banning factory farming. The sad part is that as the world's population increases the demand for meat has also increasing and the only way to supply the huge demand is to factory farm. Unfortunately, I don't see them ceasing factory farming in the immediate future. I believe that its going to take some sort of huge shake up for the world to wake up to what they are doing is wrong for several reasons.

Anything that goes wrong with factory farming, they seem to try and find a way around it instead of looking at stopping it, whether it be Mad Cows disease or a virus or that people are killing themselves by eating it, no matter what the reasons are they refuse to look at stopping it because the all mighty dollar is far more important and yet they have done a pretty good job when it comes to smoking. I see them labeling animal products as being dangerous to humans or that animals live a cruel existence and even a worse death.

No, I don't see any change unless, like I said something really drastic happens to people due to eating animals and if it takes e.g. something like Swine flue or whatever to shake them, then I say let it happen and let it happen big time. It would have to be something that they cannot fix to do the trick and it would have to kill millions of people in the process and then maybe this insanity will stop.

I wish it would stop due to morals and ethics and compassion for the animals but humans are selfish and only care about themselves so what ever its going to take to stop factory farming or killing the animals its going to be something to do humans and not the animals. Personally, I don't care what it takes to stop it.

First off I wish everyone would QUIT calling it swine flu. Its not! Its H1N1 and the reason for naming it that is it is a combination of 3 flu's likely created by humans to make money for the big pharma industry which will make billions off of it. The flu is a combination of human flu, avian flu, and swine flu - not just swine flu.
Next, in response to the comment made by Animalib B.'s comment about not enough meat could be produced on smaller farms to feed the worlds meat demand - sorry but the history of meat production says otherwise. There is the same amount of pork being produced on a few factory farms in the US as there was being produced on all the small family farms in the early 1900's. Organic farms in Russia (Care had an article on it about a week ago) also confirmed the same. There can be plenty of meat raised on sustainable organic farms around the world but big business has merely fed us lies to perpetuate its own security and most people don't do their own homework or take the time to see if what we're being told is true or not - we just take their word for it because they're big business and the government supports them! Don't forget that the government makes big bucks in taxes off these huge corporations among other payoffs.

I agree factory farming is very harmful to the environment and very cruel to the animals but that's not where swine flu came from! It was developed by this government in a lab for who knows what purpose and I believe was released so it could mutate into something very dangerous for the human population of this planet. OK, call me a conspiracy nut if you wish but what if I'm right. Also I would not take the swine flu shot they are offering as it just might kill you. They have been using it in trials with bad results so get the shot if you want but I'm not getting one nor is anyone I know. Yeah I hang out with a lot of conspiracy nuts.

I gladly sign petitions against factory farming - but please people, the so-called swine flu has NOTHING to do with pigs. As a matter of fact, a piggery in Australia had to be quarantined because two workers with H1N1, infected the pigs - not the other way around.

i'm not signing this one because i don't like the wording of it.it is misleading people as to the origins of this latest bio weapon.there are other petitions that i have signed against factory farming.i also think it is a ruse to panic the world into taking their vaccine(another bio weapon?) after all they've made enough statements calling for a reduction in the global population.

While Factory Farming for MEAT is inhumane, the real reasons for H1N1 disease are Greed, Greed and more Greed. Baxter spread H1N1 intentionally. In fact they had the vaccine patented in 2002.

I think our paranoia is showing. There is no plot to reduce the world population with H1N1 vaccine, and the disease was not spread by any parmaceutical company to boost drug sales.

Seek professional help, people!

Hi Barry! How do you explain 32 sites bought in Alaska (crematoriums) and 500,000 coffins bought by USA govt? (Would you buy a pram if you were not expecting a baby in it?) Would the USA govt buy stuff they have no confidence of using?

Obama has shares in Baxter. Time to wake up!

What on earth are you talking about? Where are you getting this stuff?
What crematoriums? What coffins? And what does of any of this delusional madness have to do with factory farms?

Hi Barry, since you asked, may I suggest you google Youtube videos on "FEMA" and "martial law". And if that is not enough, google for Jane Burgermeister. Martial law was signed by George Bush (go read it all up!)

Baxter is the one that distributed H1H1 in contaminated Bird Flu vaccine to 18 countries slightly before the first outbreak of the Swine Flu in later March this year.

Okay, Kelly. So cholesterol doesn't cause heart attack, global warming is a scam, antibiotics cause asthma, soybeans are poisonous, and FEMA is running concentration camps. What does any of this have to do with factory farms?

Kelly c. (103)

Hi Barry! You asked about crematoriums, coffins. Not factory farms.

Kelly c. (103)
Sunday August 16, 2009, 4:09 pm
Hmmm....may be I did not make myself clearer Barry. That was my point. Factory farming was not reason for the H1N1, nor the spread of it.

Asian pigs cannot fly to America to kiss North American bird and then head to Europe to kiss European pigs before infecting someone else in Mexico. Factory farming is not to be blamed for the H1N1. Genetic engineers playing around with the virus are the cause of the spread via Baxter (by order of WHO, who is sued by Jane Burgermeister).

Read CM's comment too,"I agree factory farming is very harmful to the environment and very cruel to the animals but that's not where swine flu came from! It was developed by this government in a lab for who knows what purpose and I believe was released so it could mutate into something very dangerous for the human population of this planet. "

But I fully support NOT farming for meat. I am a vegetarian and believe in compassion for all animals.

The H1N1 flu is not as frightening as the H1N1 Vaccine.

Sorry, Kelly. For a minute there, I thought you and C.M. were saying that H1N1 was some kind of a plot by the government and drug companies to get rich off a manufactured disease.
