Petition signed. Thanks, Simone. I suggested that Mrs. Charman accompany her students to the place where this lamb is to be slaughtered so that they can get the FULL experience!

Sadly the battleaxe has had her say and Marcus is no longer or so she says! I suppose she hopes this will go away now she says the sheep has been"culled" and why the euphamism for killed? This palin(oh dear Freudian slip meant plain!) speaking person surely does not want to hide the dreadful truth from the kids! Protest to her employer Kent County Council Education Department!

Now i am pleased that people are trying to save a lamb from being eaten, however it makes me sad to think of all the other lambs across the world that get eaten... when are people going to swap eating meat for just as yummy vegetarian food so we can save the lives of so many animals?

The local rag has a website unfortunaly the school is one of the few in the UK that has not! I sent in a post and was rejected as too graphic As I described the mechnics of a slaughter house without mentioning any additional or gratuitous violence and I also suggest this taechers realism crusade might well include seeing firemen rescue poele from burning buildings wrecked cars and the sort of stuff that happens in everyday life in cities. Bearing mind this school is located in sheep and agricultural areas. The children are well aware of the day to day aspects of farm food production without having a play farm at school. My post was rejected on the grounds of possibly upsetting any children that migh read it. No you coud not make it up so I toned it down and it ws published google in Hawkinge Gazette or Sheep Marcus Slaughtered etc To me the issue is one of mixing up the values for impressionable children by some apparently strident educational theorist. She was so determined to have the sheep killed I would not want a kid educated insuch an environment where one day it's a school pet and the next chops but we must not let the children know the bit in between but somehow we can justify children voting for slaughter apparently in ignorance of what that means in reality. Perhaps this teacher plays too many video games because the decision making smacks of zap an alien!
