I agree that this beggars belief. There is a recognition that animal abuse is related to child abuse so the showing of animal cruelty may encourage it. Free speech is something that we, the Allies, have fought and died for, but so were individual freedoms and the protection of the vulnerable.

Thannnxxx Simone... education awareness are vital in preventing this cruelty s well as recognition in early childhood problems and behaviour... this is addressed with counselling... there has to be a firm stance on this subject and no respite given for individuals who abuse animals..

There is no way that filming the torture of animals should be PROTECTED SPEECH. What's next? Small children and old people? Shame on the makers of these films and shame on the Supreme Court if they allow it.

Free speech - if you censor this, you will be open for rebuttal on everything everyone says or does. The thing is not to go see this or anything else - lack of monetary influx will soon discourage these film makers from their endeavors. You don't have to watch these things. Yes, I agree animal torture is not right, but then again, this kind of torture is not new (only more publicized). Those that produce these types of films are low lifes! Our only recourse is not to spend money viewing these things.

Free speech my butt! Does this mean snuff films are an expression of free speech too? I agree this shouldn't even be up for debate! Who the hell brought this issue before the S.C.??? Who the hell is talking in those films anyway????? Just when I thought I was out they pull me back in!!

Were did this man come from and how did he get were he is. Do you think he will say its okay to make snuff movies, because someone might like them. Hell NO. so is he saying its okay to kill animals movies because someone like them? Dud, its illegal to do animal cruelty, killing an animal is cruelty, so what would that make the film anything but evidence against an illegal act they committed. Is that so far out there? What next people that like to abuse children? This could go on forever, and it could open such a can of worms, when the other is obviously a illegal act, being filmed, by Mr Roberts calling it educational. Gimme me a break. JUSTICE SCALIA TALKS WITH THE NOBILITY OF TRUTH AND IT IS REALLY JUST THE DEPRAVITY OF LIES. .

the one telling point that this article does not make is that the acts being filmed are illegal in all 50 states, and it's the videos, not the acts themselves that are the cash cows. i cannot understand why the filming and selling films of explictly illegal acts should be protected. another act that i find oh so special is "crushing", where women in stilettos stomp small dogs to death. those videos are very popular these days. being able to make money legally from illegal acts makes absolutely no sense.

..Any Film Should Be Seized as Evidence; and while News the Reporting on this should Be Allowed...
..The Profiting By People That Participate in these Felonies Even if They were not Commited in the USA; It Still should Be Covered By RICO organized Crime Seizure Laws.

Animal cruelty has NOTHING to do with free speech - Justice Scalia should get his head out of his butt and look around...
