Philippines -- Leave us alone! This in essence was the message Mayor Christobal Cadungon of Antipas, North Cotabato, sent to animal rights advocates who had slammed the penchant of his constituents for horse fighting.

OMG! I didn't even know that horse fighting goes on. Just because it's a tradition doesn't lessen the fact that it's barbaric.

OMG THIS MAYOR IS SICK.

Just because somehting has been done forever doesnt make it right. it is time this barbaric societies come into the 21st century. what makes a healthy horse anymore right to use in a fight than any other horse. these horses are brutally fought often to the death of ome of them. it is simply a cruel way to watch 2 animals kill each other. it is as sick as dog fighting, cock fighting, bullfighting any time animals are used for human entertianment where they fight and harm each other it is wrong, barbaric and disgusting. it shows the low minded attitutes of the culture that is part of this cruelty.

ONLY A BARBARIANS WOULD BE PART OF SUCH CRUELITY.

There are atrocities against animals being carried out in many places in the world under the heading of "tradition". We must make our voice louder. Keep the pressure on people.

I'm just so sick of animal cruelty being being labeled 'tradition,' 'custom,' 'culture,' and 'sport' and being justified under those labels. There is no way Mr. Mayor that AR people are going to leave you and your people alone because people who think that its okay to treat animals cruelly under these guises need to be pressured to end these practices and change your traditions, customs, cultures and sports to be free from including animals whats so ever, let alone animal cruelty. No, Mr Mayor, I'm sure you will be hearing a lot more from us.

Mayor Cadungon said "the people of his town and other parts of North Cotabato continue to patronize horse fighting because it is part of their customs and tradition." Well, so was castration until about 200 years ago, but we all move on! Tradition seems to be an excuse for a lot of cruelty these days. It's an EXCUSE, not a REASON!

Someone, anyone, please put this Mayor Cadeungon out of her misery.....

A prime B I T C H without a brain cell between her ears. The only thing that distinguishes her from her neanderthal ancestors is the dress she wears - as bad as a dressed up chimp.....

The horror of these horsefights must be seen to be believed. Google and YouTube - you will puke - i promise you.

It they don't keep all their traditions (no modern medicine, no modern plumbing or sanitation, no modern transportation, no modern communication . . . .) then they don't get to keep this one. If they won't come into modern times, let's cut them off entirely. No factories, no jobs, no nothing. It's time for people to start to experience consequences of their choices because only then will they make good choices. Intel, and other high tech companies, have factories there - that's not traditional. Keep the traditions, lose the jobs.
