Y'know my friends, I love to share rescue stories that are heartwarming and touching and funny, stories with happy endings, but this isn't one of them. It could have been and should have been though. There were so many people working together to save

Sadly, we can do nothing now for Jayden except to try to make sure that he did not die in vain. You can contact the Santa Cruz Animal Control and let them know what you think about them killing a dog that so many had been working so hard to save. Ego and power plays have no place in animal shelters and animal welfare organizations! Either people are in it for the animals or they should get out!

They become insensitized. They should get out before that happens.
Thanks Simone

thank you Simone.i'd be very afraid to contact the afore mentionrd shelter!they are discusting and should not have the care of a roach entrusted to them!if you are sick enough to let your stupid pride stand in the way of a rescue and saving of an animals life,if you'd rather let it die just to snub your nose at someone your as bad as any violent abuser, infact your worse, because you receive pets ,from people who expect that they maybe put down but they expect you'll at least try to find homes and help and that trash acts like that ??? Jayden would have had more chance to survive on the street than he had the minute that trash got there slimey paws on him!!they murdered Jayden, plain and simple!

This is very sad. He deserved a second chance which he never got! This is so unfair! It breaks my heart. R.I.P Jayden atleast you are at a place where you are wanted and loved.

It seems strange that Jayden should have gone to a home with other dogs. One would have thought that being the breed that humans live off and in the efforts to rehabilitate him he should have gone to a home where there were no other dogs. My suggestion is that these benighted pit bulls always be rehab in dogless homes. They are usually so traumatised that its difficult for them to adjust easily. Many long days of love and caring are necessary, which can only happen when there are no other dogs. May be it was a case of beggars not being able to be choosers, who knows. its a heart rending story. Most of these stories are, the animals always coming off second best.

I think contacting these people again would only aggravate the situation and out of spite, they'll do it again. They have the power and they obviously will abuse it just to prove they CAN. It's a really unfair and sad outcome for Jayden, but it seems in today's world ignorance wins no matter how hard we fight.

That's not to say I'm giving up, however. I'm just being realistic and I HATE it!
