Let's hope this hunt never returns. For those interested, here's a petition for the wolves:

I think the petitions are helping a lot. I never believed in hunting. It's neanderthal.
I hope the wolves are left alone from now on.

I hope they will suspend wolf hunting everywhere.Who are these creatures that enjoy hunting and killing our wolves?I'm so glad I found other friends that are against this also.I pray that the wolves will be safe and that someday wolf hunting will be considered a crime.Maybe some jail time would deter these hunters.

The petitions have nothing to do with this. The quota established before the season was met in that unit. Hunting in parts of WMU3 actually started on September 15. The general season continues, now open in WMU1 and WMU2, and is scheduled to run until the Sunday after Thanksgiving with 51 wolves remaining on the quota.
All this information is available online from Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Parks and is updated daily.
Wolf hunting is now open all over the state of Idaho with 140 wolves remaining on their quota. The season there is open until Dec. 31 in most areas, but a few backcountry units are open until the end of March providing the quotas aren't met by then.
All this info is available online at Idaho Fish and Game.
