there is a sin tax applied to alcohol and tobacco. The consumption of corpses is a sin, and the $$$$ raised by taxing the consumers should be applied to the care of the victims of factory farming.

With of course the flesh and sinew of a dead carcass as not particularly appetizing to my palate, I say alright, but then again my family eats the traditional American way. Still, I would be willing to pay a tax on meat for them. As for meat consumers, I suppose they're going to feel penalized and raise all cain about the mere suggestion.

As a Texan reared on corn fed beef, but going cold turkey on meat or anything that had a heart for sustenance intake since I was 21 (I'm now 56), I know this is going to raise eyebrows. Perspectives on what to eat for whatever reasons (health, religion, respect for fellow animals, or on what flat out just tastes good), a major change will take generations before it comes about.

I will say this though to all flesh gorging gulpers, eating meat is a primitive attribute and it is not a sole right to do so...it's simply your choice...

they should tax the companies that do the most damage, and if the majority of those taxed are in the meat industry, so be it.

Thannxxx.. man is just tooooooo greedy.. if they cut down on their consumption then there would not be an urgent need regarding these issues
