Rajesh Gopal, who heads the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), will soon submit a report on ecological impact of a proposed Rs 900-crore mega science project in a tiger reserve in Tamil Nadu which has drawn flak from the green brigade.

Well it's good to construct a neutrino study facility, but it's outlandish to build it in an animal preserve. Preserves are eaxactly that, an undisturbed preservation of habitat for wildlife.

The construction of and the subsequent coming and going of people to the finished facility will disturb...

being in South India, the project might stand a chance. The north Indian preserves stand no chance at all, too close to China.
