Last year, close to a quarter of a million pregnant pigs in Australia were caged in stalls so small that they could not walk or even turn around.

THANKS SIMONE.
The treatment of pigs on farms in Australia is disgusting. But most Australians don't have a clue, as the article says:
"When buying bacon, ham and pork, most Australians imagine pigs living in ‘old MacDonald’s farm’ of nursery rhymes - roaming freely and wallowing in the mud. However, the reality of life for more than 90% of Australian pigs is starkly different. Pigs in factory farms live short lives of suffering, pain and deprivation."

yes it is sickening and disgusting and barbaric the way pigs and other farm animals are raised.

what is even sicker is that humans feel that eating them is ok as long as they are treated humanely before slaughter.

no matter how horrorable or humane an animal is raised it is still has to face the slaughterhouse for humans to eat it. no matter how humane a slaughterhouse is, the animals still fear and fight death.

no animal should have to endure the horror of being slaughtered for humans to fulfill thier greedy lust for the taste of animal flesh.
