Letter written and signed. I think this as in most things has more to do with money - either ranches or another source of money that finds the horses in the way. Or is it to kill them for their meat? The reasons are not yet known - but they are not reasons that have meaning for the ecological balance of nature.

Day after day and year after year we fight to prevent the killing and cruelty inflicted on animals worldwide. We are united in this struggle. Now we must get laws passed to prevent man from doing what he's always done without conscience. It's up to us to show them that there are humane methods to deal with their "problems".

Simone ~ This is an absolute outrage! The Brumbie is a magnificent horse ~ they are like no other horse in the world as far as their ability to literally make it down a steep mountainside safely and with a rider! They are truly amazing horses! This is a sad, sad world we live in today! The roundup and removal of all our American wild mustangs and little burros from 'their public lands' that will eventually be sent to slaughter houses and now the mass shooting of the Brumbies in Australia! Why the 'war on horses'; something 'evil this way comes' and it's sad and very scary! NOTED AND SIGNED ! Thanks, Simone!

Signed petition with hope that perhaps your country will listen...ours will not, as the roundup of the Mustangs and Burros continues....I only wish that someday these evil men with guns will beg to have a horse when all the oil and gas is gone .. haha! Sweet revenge.
Horses have given humankind their love and trust, and their very lives, out of loyalty....without horses we would still be in caves....and I usually wish that was the case because so called civilization has been the death knell for animals. To round up the Brumbies and kill them is monstrous and cruel. These horses only want to live their lives and be on the earth...why don't horses have the admiration and love of humans they used to?? Horses don't threaten humans or other wildlife. Who could point a gun at a defenseless horse and kill it? What kind of monsters are these humans?
Is Brumbie land going to be used for ranching and grazing stupid cattle? for oil? for gas or gold exploration? It must have something to do with money, greed, and power....the only reasons people have who claim to be "controlling" animals. This is pitiful and so sad...I hope you can get this stopped and the people proposing to do this are shamed beyond bearing.

Ok, this ha been noted and signds but it is a waist of time as it is directed to the "Mayor of district Blue Mountains". There are no Brumbies in the City of the Blue Mountains. The planned cull is in Queensland - a completely different state and even if the cull was going to happen in NSW where the Blue Mountains are the Mayor of the Blue Mountains has nothing to do with it and no power to stop it.

I have emailed Saved the Brumbies Inc(who seem to be doing nothing about it) to see if they are doing anything and to try to find out who would be the appropriate person to petition.

I am going to try to post an article about the planned cull if I can work out how to.

Welcome to the slaughter! Australia, please fall in line with the USA! Don't know about your ranching but ranchers in our country use open/free range to feed their cattle, the American wild mustangs compete for food. They, the ranchers, have the politicians in their pockets. So, they slaughter these beautiful animals, who were here long before the COW! Good luck in your endeavors, I signed your petition.

Noted and signed and I too hope it'll do any good. The Brumbies are part of our herritage and need to stay that way. Kevin Rudd seems to be the person, but he's toooooo busy preparing for the election this year! He even did a deal with the Japanese over the Whaling. Japan won't kill as many Whales next year if Australia won't take them to court!! So Japan IS scared, but I mentioned this just to show that we can't trust our Prime Minister. He did a deal with a country that is known for not keeping it's word and telling lies, so why should Kevin Rudd do something about the culling of the Brumbies? He's in charge of our country and he knew about this awhile ago. Why didn't he try to stop it then??? I don't know, all I do know is that there is something fishy going on here.

Next in line to the dog, horses are man's second Best friend! For years we have relied on the horse for agriculture & pleasure! Now they are Pest! Statements as such come from evil humans who have anger, resentment, jealousy, apathy for themselves & need to be recognized! And we certainly do, we know these individuals as fools, idiots, murderers, evil & insane beasts who needs to keep their big mouths shut up! We who knows, will always treasure our beautiful & wonderful horses as being what they have always been known to be & what they have always meant to mankind!

Both the US and Australian governments seem to think that if it doesn't serve a purpose - their purpose AKA making money - that it doesn't deserve to live. Sad. Signed and noted.
We can rant about abuses of animals and people in 3rd world countries all we want, but until the US, Australian and Canadian governments wake up to the fact that slaughtering innocent animals is WRONG we have no leg to stand on when confronting Japan and Iceland whaling, Korean dog killing etc :-(
