Noted and thank you for this good news and it's about time that someone has the sense to put horses under the same bill as Pets. If a horse belongs to one of the children or one of the parents it's obviously a pet even if the children don't ride it every day.

I believe Horses are lacking the protection they need. If one can have mice and rats as pets, yuck, then why not a horse? Anyway at least one State has started and I hope other States will follow suit and countries as well! especially those countries where people have plenty of room in their yard to keep a Pony or Horse. A pet is a pet whatever the size!

I can't read this, but I will try again later. By reading the post, I am assuming that horses in Colorado will be protected against abuse. Absolutely wonderful. I am a horse owner and lover. To see these majestic animals abused is terrible. I hope other states follow suit.

how long is it going to take for the whole world to finally be able to call itself civilised?? is inhuman and unethical for any animals to suffer abuse and not to be protected by law, sometimes i wonder what centuary we are living in that such matters are still in need of discussion!!!!

Wonderful news. Now if only everyone else would come to the understanding that domestic violence affects animals. If a person is abusing another human being you can bet they are abusing any animals within their reach. If a person is abusing an animal you can bet they are abusing the humans within their reach. If not it is just a question of time and practice.
