Cows lay dying on the ground, with calves trying to suckle them and a horse's hoof fell off, they were left for ants, dogs and crows to finish off", but no one will be prosecuted!

Disgusting, and inhumane. What kind of research is that - only similar to the shocking horrors of Nazi concentration camps. Those responsible should be starved to death themselves if they want to do such research!

Somethings far wrong somewhere when no one will be prosecuted, they're sending out the wrong message that it's ok to abuse and starve animals..Those animals must've endured such suffering and those responsible should be punished big time. Signed Thank you Simone.

Why isn't the college itself being pursued? Maybe a big, hefty fine that could be donated to sanctuaries would be one way of dealing with this situation. How about taking the license to practice away from these veterinarians? I would prefer to see someone go to jail, but apparently they made up their minds that that won't happen for some lame reason. This just shouldn't be ignored. If nothing else, it sets a bad example.

signed I am glad that scum is a "former". But what is with the 12 month expiration on prosecution. Did someone drag their feet here and let him get away with murder and animal cruelty and call it "normal" ? How sick is that? I hope the petition turns this around.

Allan Yorkowitz (452)
Sunday October 31, 2010, 1:29 pm
I agree with Janet F, - why isn't the college being fined? I'm sure this was not a secret about what was happening to these animals. Somebody has to suffer either financially, or just flat out lose their jobs.

I just don't get this. How can a University allow this? There is something fishy here. I say follow the money. Money that was supposed to take care of the animals. Where is it? The scum responsible needs to be charged and deserves at least 20yrs in jail. Life would be better.

I am beginning to despair about the state of the human race, its becoming totally enveloped in cruelty and abuse towards all animals. Every day more stories are released of the horrors that mankind inflict on other living creatures. I don't think any other species inflict such unwanton cruelty as we do. Roll on judgement day.

This is not a petition. It's a statement. The word petition involves a request and there is no request on that page. I would dearly love to sign a petition on this issue if someone gives me one to sign. It is a terrible situation and shames the university involved. There ought to be an official inquiry at least.

what can anyone do to stop this from happening again because these organisationsare run as a business and so is all the medicine the world over,so very few doctors or vetenarians have no interest in the people or the animals and that goes for the governments that preside over them and untill the real people take charge nothing will ever change.

Here, where I live, we have some absolute WINNERS of vets! They are caring and so lovely with the animals. Even the littlest mouse gets wonderful treatment. I suppose I have been living in dream land. I thought mostly vets were lovely people and so this article absolutely STUNNED me! how on EARTH could they have done such a thing and how on EARTH could they not have been charged! I just find it soul-destroying to think that the very people who should be horrified at this crime are the very ones that have COMMITTED it!!

It is indeed sad and troubling that people treat animals in this way. In my best opinion scientists are often quite cruel to animals. The whole ideas of testing on animals are done by scientists. There are reasons for that. When one looks into the history of science then it is a knowledge system which is based on profit making for the elite while dominating poor people and nature. That is why it is not so strange that universities and other labs are doing this. We all want to end this excessive use of violence to animals, however I do agree with Hugh this is not a petition. The petition holder needs to make a request. Secondly, I also agree with those who are offended by the language used in the petition. We do not end violence by using violent words. I think we need to be respectful towards our opponents and explain why we disagree with their actions. That may give a much better reception and people will listen to us. Conclusively, although I am equally saddened about this abuse of precious animals, in the present form I cannot sign this petition. Sorry. But thank you Simone for posting this important information.

So sad that scientists are usually the worst abusers of animals ever. I guess that with all the testing they do, they don't feel any compassion for animals.

If you are an alumni of the college, your comments will have even more impact. Didn't anyone notice the smell of dying animals? Don't starving animals make cries that can be heard? If they are out in a field, is no one around to even see this? Is the whole country in a "mind your own business" fog? Whatever happened to anonymous letters to the press to investigate the situation BEFORE the animals started to starve? No one works on the farm? Do they hire the blind to feed the animals?

My first thought went to the nazis, they are doing the same thing with these poor animals. I'm surprised every time I read such disgusting stories and say to myself this must be the worst one, but then there are other stories that are even worse. I wonder how they can live well knowing that they are giving pain to these creatures.....
