I'd already signed; what Salazar is doing to the remaining wild horses is obscene. He should be removed from office. He is incapable of advocating for wildlife but very competent in doing whatever the oil, mining, corporate farming and large cattle operatiosn tell him, a perfect little lap dog.

already signed and just noted. Perhaps we should take Ken Salazar and toss him to the wolves. But somehow I think the wolves would have better taste and avoid this poisonous person.

Ken Salazar is nothing but a vomiting creep. You don't know anything about suffering and torture, but when you die, hopefully soon, you'll find out all about pain when you cross the burning gates of hell.

@Helene Brigden - RIGHT ON: Salazar epitomizes Obama's betrayal of this Land and its living creatures human and otherwise. Salazar is a TOTAL SH*TEBAG who cares more about his blasted 'cowboy' hat than about the lives and sacredness of our animal brethren. Salazar bears personal culpability for the GENOCIDE against wolves and the Big-Oiligarch-serving destruction of polar bear habitat. Horses were prophesied to return to this hemisphere, by First Nations spiritual persons. Horses are SACRED. But crapitalistic creeps like Salazar are more than happy to have Wild Mustangs rounded up and killed in the process - because horse'meat' [sic!] is a big-ticket item as a USA export!!!! Exported to Mexico and to Europe, horse'meat' is a sign to all the world's compassionate human beings of how much USA 'leaders' DO NOT LOVE MOTHER EARTH. As to Salazar's karma: eternal pain and suffering of the worst sort are what he is earning: the lowest levels of Hell are too high and gentle for animal-murdering monsters such as him.

FIRE KEN SALAZAR AND BOB ABBEY! It is amazing that this man has done more damage than any other admin DOI, killed more people (oil rig & coal mine explosions), animals, slowed (some say blocked) the advancement of natural energy and protection of wild/public lands and yet he still has a job. It makes me enraged! It has been one of the worst mistakes of Obama's presidency. F&*king unbelievable, everyday a new death!

horses die so cattle may live, so they can be killed for burgers, so people can choose to eat them. There are plenty of people who "need to eat meat"..why not eliminate the middle man so to speak and just eat people? They run slower, are plentiful, and full of preservatives, and some come with bonus Happy Toys.

Once your horses, bison and wolves have all been hunted and slaughtered, I wonder what your representatives will start on next??? Perhaps they could volunteer to be the prey themselves and they could take our government with them (the government that wants to REINTRODUCE hunting with dogs where the prey gets literally ripped to pieces just so the 'rich' can be entertained and have some fun)

Noted and signed. i f you really want to fire Ken Salazar for all he has done and is doing to Mustangs, wolves and buffalo here is the link to the petition .Please everybody sigh - we need to get him out of office now !

Signed x2.... an extra $12 million is being budgeted for 9 additional BLM round ups at a time when people are losing their homes, their jobs and going hungry. Where are our priorities???
Tuesday December 14, 2010, 11:38 pm
I've lost track of the number of petitions I've signed, the letters I've written, the emails I've sent all to halt these cruel and unnecessary roundups. I do know, members of Congress are beginning to press the BLM for answers which is encouraging and probably bodes well for future action although not nearly soon enough for so many horses and burros.

Alice B., please don't blame Obama for Salazar! He was a G.W.Bush appointee. I agree, he has to GO, however! He's a maggot on the public, and has no business being in his position, since he's a cattleman (rancher) and it's a complete conflict of interest. I've signed about 10 petitions now that are pleading to get Salazar removed and thought that was in the works, actually! Glad to sign another one. These round-ups MUST stop!

So Disgustingly cruel !!! Signed already, & ( other petitions about this ) Posted to F.B., Friends, Family.
I'm an Aussie & when I look at America's history, I see that you used to get rid of people by Assassination.
Seems like that's a good idea, in this particular case !!!
Don't forget to harass Salazar by helicopter, for several hours first !!!

Rounding up Salazar and hunting him down sounds good to me. Diane L., sorry Obama did choose this scum bag, it is a cabinet position, therefore his choice when elected. Am thoroughly disallusioned with Obama at this point. When it comes to saving anything four-legged, this Administration sucks.
Wednesday December 15, 2010, 5:48 pm
I really don't know HOW these guys get their jobs. How do they sleep at night after what they do to animals. I'm sure they get an adrenaline rush, but after they do things like that, WHAT DO THEY GO ON TO??
I'm sure there are alot of people that want to get a free horse so they don't have to kill them. Or they can sell them for two hundred dollars each, instead of getting nothing but a bunch of dead horses.

Bonnie, I apologize..........you're correct! I thought I'd read that Salazar was a "hold over" from G.W.'s Administration, and because he supported Obama (he apparently supported several of Obama's nominees), he was retained. Wikipedia shows he was Obama's first appointee, actually. I have signed dozens of petitions about wild horses as well as wolves and asked for Salazar's resignation and/or firing. I'm deeply disappointed that he's still in office!
Minkie, when the BLM rounds up these horses, they DO generally offer them up for adoption at a fee of about $200/each. The problem is, they're rounded up on PUBLIC lands, in WESTERN states, such as Wyoming and Nevada, and then put in holding pens for up to two weeks, where they're crowded together and have no room to maneuver. Many times, young foals are killed, as well as adults that become too frightened and stressed. Of course, this is even AFTER dozens die from the trauma of being run down by the helicopters in the first place. Then, the survivors eventually are loaded into stock trailers and trucked (overland) for 2000 miles to "adoption centers" in Missouri and states in the far SOUTHEAST.
To me, that is ALL unacceptable, but especially the fact they're shipped 2000 miles away from where they were born. The BLM claims the handlers are horsemen and experienced! BULL! Half of them are volunteers who don't know the front end of a horse from a power boat.
