Sent off letter with my comments that are probably not going to be read, but who cares? It makes me feel better to point out the range lands are being ruined by cattle and only the buffalo can restore it to its original beauty. Cattle ruin the streams and creeks, they spread noxious weeds and they are turning the west into vast regions of desert....uninhabitable by any animals. The creosote bush, ironweed, cholla, napweed, and many other plants are used by virtually no animal....and these noxious weeds kill the native grasses, flowers, and other plants--they poison the soil and the the wild animals die from starvation. The cattle do this. Cattle stomp up the creeks and turn little streams into goop---buffalo do not; cattle eat the noxious weeds and poop out the seeds and spread them everywhere----buffalo do not; cattle and sheep graze the grasses down so much they kill the good grasses---buffalo do not; buffalo fur is made to pick up the native grasses when rolling and spread the good seeds---cattle do not. Land that has been turned over to buffalo after cattle have ruined it, return to lovely meadows with beautiful streams and lush native grasses. The wildlife returns---beavers, wildcats, deer, elk, raccoons, rabbits, coyotes, mustangs, etc. The change is unbelievable! Buffalo are good for wildlife and good for our land......I wish all cattle ranchers would take their stupid cattle off the land, put buffalo on it, and go and open a coffee shop instead!
