- If ever the egregious suffering of animals is to be stopped, stiffer penalties for offenders have to be upheld, but not so for Lysandra Nicole Chambers of Winston-Salem. Sentenced to 45 days in jail, Forsyth District Judge Roland Hayes suspended her

noted and it is not right but it seems justice in relationship to an animal is also blind

Noted. This kind of sentencing just gives other abusers a license to keep on torturing and killing animals.

Noted. It is such a shame people are not getting higher punishments for animal abuse...that is why it will not stop anytime soon....

Noted. Did the sentencing judge not realize that if you let someone get away with something as cruel as this, they are likely to do it again, because they got off easy the first time they got caught?

Did the judge leave his brain at home that day? What a farcical sentence, its about time the justice system got a backbone instead of pussy-footing around with these abusers. Its time the judges thought more about the innocent victims of these horrific crimes and gave harsher sentences so any abuser starts to realise that their behaviour will not be tolerated by decent, law-abiding, caring citizens. Shame, shame on that judge.
