ACTION ALERT: Ban Dolphin Captivity! PLEASE SIGN PETITION !

Animals  (tags: dolphins, torn from wild, oceans, captivity, imprisoned, exploitated, cruelty, suffering, laws, protection )

Simone

Clearly, dolphins living in captivity have been hunted, captured, collected and harrassed to perform tricks for food at many marine parks, in an effort to exploit them for the entertainment of humans.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could count on government agencies to do what's right? Sadly, we can't .
The ONLY way this horrific life-long (drastically shortened life) captivity will end is if the demand ends.

Encourage everyone you know to BOYCOTT all forms of animal entertainment!
Even the "good" ones that occasionally do a bit of good, for public relations, are only in it for the MONEY. Only empty seats and no profits will stop the imprisonments of these poor innocent creatures.

Hopefully, someday "shows" will be BANNED altogether.

Done. It absolutely resonates with me.

People should boycott this type of “entertainment“ in the first place. On no account should new cetaceans be held in captivity, and those captives that can be released into the wild should be freed! They belong into the wild, to the big blue, to their families.

This stems from (a misplaced) arrogance: If a person got unjustly imprisoned, was separated from his/her loved ones, and forced to do what his/her self-styled masters wish him/her to do, many would (rightfully) object to it. When the same is done to dolphins or the like on a regular basis, it seems okay with some. Such people fail to see it is an identical case.

Signed and sent and said a few words of my own as a Animal Advacate. These beatuiful ocean creatures and many others that are better off in the wild then being in captivity and they don't live that long then in the wild. Using them for their own gains needs to be stoped and Ban them from taking them out of the wild. Breeding them in captivity is plain wrong to gain their pleasures.

Sadly, humans must make money off the backs of these intelligent beautiful creatures! This fact saddens my heart. The one thing that will always be in my memory was years ago I was in the Caribbean and was lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins swimming joyously, serenely, divinely, awarely free. I never took a picture but the memory I will always have. Celebrate their freedom...Boycott all companies that not only use dolphins but all animals!!! PLEASE!

These cetaceans are peer intelligences. The only 'captivity' they should ever see is occasional transient confinement for medical treatment; our entertainment can be handled by 'hiring' dolphins to cavort in the sea just offshore, in a pool kept open to the sea, or around observation ships, and paying them in fish.

I regret to say that I have, in the past, seen such shows, but, pledge to never again, be a observer.
We must consider the brain activity level of a confined species, and the dolphin rates high on the totem pole.
This makes the confinement disturbing, if not downright agonizing, for dolphins.

Signed and Shared. Captivity is a slow and agonizing death for dolphins. When people are informed of how dolphins suffer in captivity and how many die at such a young age in these aquariums, they want the dolphins released. Because of the popularity of Sea World and because many people don't know the truth that dolphin captivity is what drives the horrific dolphin hunts and slaughter as in Taiji Japan, they unwittingly support dolphin captivity. This is why the Marine Mammal Commission needs to ban dolphin captivity.
