SeaWorld continues to turn a blind eye to the safety of humans and animals alike despite numerous tragedies--like the deaths of a mother and baby orca and the death of yet another trainer who was seized and held down to drown by a frustrated whale.

Absolutely Signed without any thought! It is so unbelieable that these Amusement parks have to put these special creatures in PRISON to draw people to pay to get into these Parks! The insanity of it makes me Cranky...sadly, in the early 1970's I was one of those people that paid to get into Sea World, then never saw a Orca only the dolphins and they were in a Large Bay type area not some TANK!

Noted with Sorrow that these Creatures have to deal with Mankind's Stupid Greedy Nature! Always the creatures that suffer!

IT's like putting them in closets. Think for the size of where they are and the size of where they should be-the ocean. There is no comparison in size and I can not imagine how they would be comfortable in these aquaria.

While the extensive fraud committed by the 'sponsor' of this issue prevents me from doing anything with the petition, I do want the whale shows to be reworked such that the cetaceans are taught to swim in from the wild to an 'open' performance pool to do their demonstration, receive their food payment, and return to the wild vice be imprisoned in 'seaquaria'. Most of the cetacea should be considered our peers.

"There are currently hundreds of bottlenose dolphins in captivity world-wide: equally thousands have died in captivity. In the United States alone, according to figures from the US National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), over 2,300 bottlenose dolphins were captured for display purposes between 1972 and 1994 in the USA. It is impossible to estimate how many dolphins have been captured for display in other countries. As an example of the death toll; in Germany at least 120 captive whales and dolphins have died since the 1960s. This figure will be significantly higher for the USA and other countries." -- Bottlenose Dolphins in Captivity, Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society

The only thing that will definitely stop animals from being put on exhibit is for everyone to stop attending these cruel and inhumane events.

We can decry these places but how many of of our friends and family have gone to them including us. We need to bring the cruelty out into the open and advocate freedom for these poor creatures. If people didn't attend then there would be no aquaria. Given that many of the sea creatures wouldn't be capable of surviving if freed there should be laws governing their tank sizes and environmental interest for those that cannot be reintroduced,
