Baby orangutans are illegally captured and sold as pets - while logging and development are rapidly destroying the forests where their parents and other wild relatives live. Unless we take decisive action now, orangutans could go extinct in the wild.

Hunted by illegal wildlife traders and rapidly dying in places where forests are cleared, orangutans have a very real risk of disappearing forever – unless we do something about it now.

The keys to saving orangutans are to expand protected areas in the forest, to ensure local communities tangibly benefit from the presence of orangutans, and to train and equip more ecoguards for law enforcement. But none of that can happen without people like you stepping
