Police say Edward Grysko, 61, told authorities he beat a 14-year-old Jack Russell terrier to death on Wells Street Monday night, then buried its body in a snowbank. But when police went to retrieve the dog's body, they found that Rudy the dog was still

Sounds as if Mr. Grysko may be suffering from early onset dementia and should be locked away for his own safety.

Additionally, I would just like to add a little something on behalf of Rudy. "Who's got the last laugh now?"

Thank You Simone. So glad the little dog is expected to make a full recovery.

Yes, he's a real loser alright Marian, real scum. Rudy is expected to make a full recovery, what a tough courageous little fellow and he's 14 years old too.

It's a miracle that poor dog survived. Forget jail, the monster needs to be beaten and buried alive. Check back on him a month later, if he's still breathing, leave him for another month.

Hello Everyone...this is Rudy's "sister" (My mom is his owner). My mom recently moved from CA (where I presently live) with Rudy and her two other dogs, Gracie and Pearl. I am so glad to see all the support for Rudy...he is one tough, stubborn, and lucky dog! I spoke with my mom this morning and am glad to report that Rudy is improving and safe with my mom at my sister's house...this has been such a whirlwind...like a scene from a movie. I went to sleep Monday night thinking Rudy was dead and woke to find out he was ALIVE! We all feel so truly blessed...it is a miracle! Rudy has been through a lot with my mom...through good times and bad. This wasn't his time. I still struggle with the thought of him alone, cold, and suffering buried in a snow bank. Everyone asks, how could someone do this? Well, from what I know of that unmentionable person who used to be my uncle...he is a severe alcoholic who has lived a hermit lifestyle...I hope he gets the max and even more, that the thought of what he has done haunts him for the rest of his life...he has to live with what he has done. There needs to be justice for Rudy! Thanks again for all of your support!
PS. My profile pic is of Rudy, approximately one week before the beating when I was visiting my mom in VT.

Lori, thanks for your words...but not really a happy ending. Edward committed suicide this morning. We wanted justice for Rudy but not this way. Edward had demons that extend far beyond and earlier than what happened with Rudy, so it is just really sad that all of this had to happen in the first place.
