HELP TURN UP THE HEAT FOR HORSES

A new bill to end horse slaughter is rapidly gaining support in Congress.

Similar to the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act (H.R. 503/S. 311), which has been stalled in Congress, a new bill introduced by House Judiciary Committee Chairman, John Conyers (D-MI)—along with Rep. Dan Burton (R-IN)—would finally end this brutal practice. The Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act of 2008 (H.R. 6598) prohibits the slaughter of American horses for human consumption and their export for slaughter in other countries.
