Every time the Republican Party reaches a new low in overtly racist conspiracy theories, I wonder how they could possibly do anything more despicable. I shouldn’t wonder. They always do. The latest is their “Obama Phones” scandal. Lets start with the phony Republican video that started it.

Thank you for this, Tom - it's another fine example of the closet racism so often shown by the GOP. Say "welfare" and they assume "lazy, black people" - but there are actually more whites on welfare than blacks.

Just goes to show ya, nothing is too low or too sleazy for these desperate republicans to give it a try. Except that most people getting state or federal benefits are not black nor Hispanic they are white. Don't worry Rush can just have the video remade. I'm really tired of the same old nasty stuff being used as a tool to substitute for the truth. We can not know if Obama's jobs plan would have improved employment in the US it was never even considered on the floor. Though if one wants to discuss people getting paid for NOT working, we need look no farther than Congress.

Thanks Tom for the post and video clip. The GOP continues to rewrite history and misrepresent the facts. What else can they do since they can't win on policies or truth.

The founding fathers with the greatest name recognition to us all have quotes about how important character and integrity are (e.g., Franklin, Jefferson, Adams)...are they turning over in their graves?

Again I have to say that if the republicans can't win honestly, they will lie, cheat, steal, intimidate, or anything else they deem helpful. Karl Rove is the master puppeteer in this despicable theater.

Right on everyone! I especially like Kit's observation: "Though if one wants to discuss people getting paid for NOT working, we need look no farther than Congress."!! Time to let them draw Unemployment, it's much safer for us that way!

The Drudge Report and Rush Limbaugh --the embodiment of excellence in reporting! I guess the Romney campaign needed a distraction from the "47% percent video," and they certainly did get one! I don't believe the mainstream media will want cover this piece of garbage; however, other types of media will and, unfortunately for the creators of this video, Ronald Reagan will be given his due credit. Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert and Bill Maher are probably chomping at the bit already. And they'll give the idiots who instigated this video the credit they deserve. Personally, I can't wait to see what they do with it!

I also loved Kit's comment and would add this: Is congress any better than a woman who supports a candidate who would give her a free phone? We don't know whether or not this video was rigged, but we DO know that many of our representatives are on the take --and what they're getting amounts to much, much more than a free phone. Worse yet, the legislation they enact for their corporate benefactors is usually paid for by the taxpayer --either in increased taxes, lower environmental standards and worse.

What a crock! I guess the Republican/Teabagger desperation is hitting new highs. Manufacturing a scandal to distract from existing GOP scandals, which are numerous!

Get out the vote!!!!! Four more years!!!!!

Vote Democratic 2012!!!!! Vote Obama/Biden 2012!!!!!

As usual, Republican instituted program back in the 30's, re-inforced by Reagan and changed to cell phone inclusion by G.W. and this President is falsely accussed of starting the program and castegated for "giving handouts" to get votes to the "ner do wells" hum? not sure that is right spelling of that but ya get my drift. Never seen such vile attempts at winning with out right lies, brainwashing propaganda and total manipulation in my life. Good Lord, the scumbags are really desparate.

ARRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AGAIN. Can't wait until elections are over, President Obama has another term and Congress shifts dramatically to dedicated Dems and honest Inde's.

VOTE PEOPLE VOTE and Help you neighbor if they need it too.

TC, Love Ya Dude.
