Life has been a little dicey over at Fox, AKA Faux Noise, the propaganda wing of the Republican Party. The election demonstrated that their propagandists are so full of fertilizer that their eyes are brown. Since then, occasional guests, invited so they could parrot Republican talking points, forget to goose step in lock step, causing extreme consternation. Here, Ben Stein actually put being an economist ahead of being a Republican.

Like in the days of The John Birch Society, there is a cadre of what became called "true believers" that could not tolerate exposure to anything that contradicted their memorized litany...perhaps this element is what sowed the seeds of their demise?

The sad bit is that there are many who actually believe that whatever Faux says is gospel.

That FAUX JERK did everything he could to avoid the valid point, didn't he?

WEALTHY PEOPLE MUST PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE!

It's the first time I've been able to listen to Ben Stein without shutting him off in disgust.

Ghastly Gutfeld called Ben Stein a communist because he disagreed with him! The stinking rich must pay their taxes at a fair rate - no ifs no buts - they must!

I was disgusted to see the fallout of such audacious phony "journalism".
Even though I worked at abc news and it was also 80% garbage...these pseudo intellectuals are a bunch of gas bags. They have no idea of the reprocussions of their vitriole.
I have actually seen the 18-24 age group thinking that Hitler was an imperialist and would have been remembered as a hero if "only he wasn't a butcher of jews"...and they think that in the future he will seem no more evil than genghis khan or Alexander the great...The Go nowhere generation want to rewrite history probably because they think they have nothing better to do...."i so bored" is their lamentation
and I can't find enough hours in the day for my existence and my causes....I guess they just don't care for the truth if it is different from their know nothing lives....and lack of experience at well; everything but incoherent babbling ( the name of their site)

sorry from straying from the tax topic.
I think we all agree on who needs to pay more taxes, and faux news is a bunch of moronic talking heads.
It's the fallout that gets my blood boiling...and there is no arguing with these kids.
I mentioned that I was living on a boat and of course the whiny posters called me a liar on more than one occasion, saying my claims were "grandiose"....what a bunch of losers.
Thank goodness for the people here who care and are knowledgeable enough to know what to care about.!!

The Repuglican propaganda machine failed this time around!!!!!!! Faux News is not allowed in places where intellectuals hand out - only in smokey bars where fat old white guys chug beer and smoke seegars!!!!! The idiot Republicans need to get some real news - did you read some of the audacious posts that turned up here during the election? There are still a couple of people posting trast still! Denial, denial, denial!

From this moment on, I will not longer read posts by Water, Cam, Maui, or any of the other sad sack loosers! They are really pathetic - they keep putting junk up here like the election is still going! What ever happened to "people doing good" on Care2? That Walter person had almost a whole page of posts this AM with nothing but Israel, Obama hate and just junk. THIS, folks, is what propaganda looks like - AND REMEMBER - IT IS GARBAGE! IGNORE IT!

Ty Tom. Most in the GOP would go along with even more propaganda if they had won. So i trust none of them. The majority are misguided opportunists, war mongers, profiteers, and assorted fanatics...should be re-branded as WUP [Whackos United Party] Too many main streamers have allowed the communications bar to be lowered by responding to their nonsense as if it is something legitimate. As usual i reference Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations on taxation and regulation. Austrian School [Top Feeder] School-- Supply Side Economists fail to comprehend that Smith's most basic premise and purpose was to ADVOCATE for "LABOUR" . . . WORKERS--artisians and trades people--NOT the Wealthy Corporate Merchant and Financier Class.

"Labour was the first price, the original purchase - money that was paid for all things. It was not by gold or by silver, but by labour, that all wealth of the world was originally purchased."

''No society can surely be flourishing and happy, of which the far greater part of the members are poor and miserable. It is but equity, besides, that they who feed, clothe and lodge the whole body of the people, should have such a share of the produce of their own labour as to be themselves tolerably well fed, clothed and lodged.''

"The subjects of every state ought to contribute towards the support of the government, as nearly as possible, in proportion to their respective abilities; that is, in proportion to the revenue which they respectively enjoy under the protection of the state."

"It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more in proportion."

"Every tax, however, is, to the person who pays it, a badge, not of slavery, but of liberty."

”When the regulation, therefore, is in support of the workman, it is always just and equitable; but it is sometimes otherwise when in favour of the masters.”

”. . .especially when the object is to reduce poverty.”

''Even our commercial policy should hold an equal and impartial hand: neither seeking nor granting exclusive favors or preferences.''

PS. I am confident that Adam Smith would consider the GOP to be the complete embodiment of his greatest concerns for any nation's social, political and economic constructs. And, would have found "shills and trolls" to be despicable and depraved.

If the middle and working classes were working and earning a good income, and paying less in taxes, the wealthy might actually make more money because the middle and working classes would have more disposable income. But in order to have that happen, the wealthy have to 1) quit outsourcing jobs to places like China; and 2) pay their fair share of taxes so that the tax burden does not fall on middle and working class families. What is so hard to understand? The Republican/Teabaggers are so myopic, and Faux Noise is worse because they parrot the same crap!

This Greg Gutfield is such a condescending asshole early on when he says he understands why Ben Stein wants to raise taxes — it's about getting invited to more cocktail parties.

Gutfield — ". . . it's about spending. … why do you raise taxes when spending is the problem?" — Yup, like spending for two wars on the US credit card! What would the US deficit look like had the war in Iraq and the war in Afghanistan not happened? Another unintelligent talking head!

Gutfield — "… I'm not a class warfarist …" then shortly thereafter calls Ben Stein a communist. This idiot wouldn't know a communist if one bit him on the nose! Not only that, he IS a class warfarist — one that supports the wealthy. And oh yes, he did get his knickers in a twist! Very unprofessional!

This Gutfield, and for that matter, all the talking heads at Faux Noise, are squawky parrots waging the GOP class warfare battle. Too bad you guys in the US have to put up with this BS. Maybe you'll get lucky and Faux Noise's license will not be renewed!

Stein is as two-faced as most RepubliCONs in entertainment.. I liked his "Win Ben Stein's Money" show on Comedy Central back in the day..but he doesn't seem to like Science in general & Evolution in particular, so How Smart can he be??? Even in Economics (his "specialty", which he must regard as an art rather than science) he goes from "Tax the rich" one day to whining he was being punished in 2010 when Obama suggested NOT re-authorizing the Bu$h Tax cuts on the rich… Still, it's always funny to see a FAUX News "agent" messed up!!!!;)

Ben Stein was right on and for Greg to call him a Communist really pissed me off. The rich are not paying the taxes they should, plus this country made them rich.

Republicans think Fox is real news and that station is the only one that tells the truth. I almost told my baby brother to pucker up and kiss my bum this past weekend, the only thing that stopped me was we were having our Thanksgiving dinner so I just let it passs in one ear and out the other so as not to start trouble, since the correct party won the election anyway, why keep beating a dead horse?

Anymore it seems we need to be cautious about what anybody is saying these days. I look at news from other countries sometimes to find more truth then the propaganda we are fed here in the US. Keep them busy tactics used to keep actual truth from all of us. I said it before and I will say it again, propaganda is the most dangerous war weapon on the planet. Looking around you see it more and more, everyone is asleep at the wheel, feeding off the lies we are told on the evening news. Once you see how brainwashed people really are it's scary. I mean it's really scary because they will fight you until death when you try to give them the real story. Suddenly you become some crazy person because u stopped eating the crap so you spit it out. Let em chew on it, eventually they will choke as we are now seeing all over the world! Sad our children will have to be the ones to clean up the mess.

Ben Stein is a bona fide economist? Who knew? I thought he was just a deadpan performer whose claim to fame lied in starring in a commercial where he held a huge eyeball with bulging red capillaries and demonstrated how just a few drops of Visine could wash the red away! Perhaps he should give the Visine (or the eyeball) to Greg Gutfeld. It might help him see the truth about the need to raise taxes and about his own likeability factor. No one who works for Fox News has reason to take him or herself that seriously --much less be as conceited as he is!

Following their #1 propagandist on Care2, I see Cam V noted this. Nothing to say, Cam/Paul...?

Let's hope fox implodes on itself, Tom.

Given that Fox News tends to lean more to the right than a man who's just had his right leg blown off, that they actually think anything to the left of Mussolini is a liberal. The Republican trolls that hang around here like a particularly rank fart in an elevator claim Fox is popular should know that popularity does not translate into integrity or knowledge. A December 2010 University of Maryland study showed Fox News viewers aren't merely the most uninformed, but the most misinformed. So the best way to infuriate them is to give them a good hard boot to the happy sacks and see them going down faster than Mitten's jaw when he realized he had lost.

LOVE Louise's quote....They actually think anything Left of Mussolini is a Liberal. OMG...I think that will be my favorite quote of the day. Sadly, it's really not an exaggeration at all.

You may infuriate a propagandist by calling him/her on his/her game. Or, perhaps by asking for actual real, evidence for the claims he/she makes.

I don't watch Fox News because it contains thoughts known by the state of California to cause cancer. I have no intention of exposing myself to the risk by watching this video.

Oh, I am hated here? Why is that? Because I don't think like you, Robert? What a childish statement to make. I don't hate you because you don't think like me. The word "hate" never enters my mind. You have your freedom of speech and I have mine. But hate?

Michael Moore isn't a role model for anyone. He is just a film maker who places a great deal of importance on himself.

Diane, I don't hate you, I pity you. You're the most dishonest person I've ever run across, and I can't help but pity you. You must really have no self respect and that bothers me.
