I am glad that Obama has grown a pair.

Now, as this is Obama's last term as President, he may get some issues accomplished...

"In his first term he did offer plans heavy with compromise, and every time he did, Republicans came back with new demands even more unreasonable that what they had originally said they wanted. If they are frustrated that Obama has learned not to play that game, good." It is good - during his first term when President Obama appeared to be believing what that load of unconscionable GOP liars were saying I was furious, knowing their word was worth as much as a chocolate teapot - at least he seems to have realised it now - praise the Lord!

Love the cartoon. And the quote by JFK.

Puzzle 3:26 I guess we are going sailing together Jerry. Only question now is, will it be smooth or wind swept by Patty? TC, we'll tow you behind us so we can all party!

MoveOn So true! I wonder if he learned that from having to deal with Joe McCarthy? McCarthy was a family friend even before JFK won his senate seat. A wonderful Norman Rockwell painting of JFK.

NY Times Well I guess Mr Obama did learn something, but the Republican/Teabaggers don't like what he learned. The Huffington Post reported that Boehner said there had been no progress. I suspect what he really meant was that there had been no progress that the Republican/Teabaggers liked. Life's a bitch eh John!

McClatchy DC Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely! This is not what the Egyptians fought for last year and earlier this year. I have Egyptian friends, Coptic Christians, who have family in Egypt. I pray for my friends and their family, and I pray for all Egyptians who want nothing more than to live in peace.

Cartoon There was a phrase a few years ago that was on bumper stickers and billboards. It was everywhere. "I found it!" Well I do believe that Mr Obama found it too, or rather them! . . . a set of BRASS balls! And Boehner doesn't like that. I believe he may well end up officially being the Weeper of the House by the time that the fiscal speed bump negotiations are over. I sure hope so!

Right after the election, when it was found that the GOP would maintain control of the house, Boehner said words to the effect that the people had given them a mandate - which I guess meant Boehner thought they had won something.

Somehow I interpret the election results different than he does, and so do a lot of people. I think the Orange Mans logic is failing (if he ever had any).

I do not believe the GOP stands a chance.

JFK's quote is spot-on. No wonder they assassinated him, he wasn't taking any of their bull. I think Obama played their sick game until now. The GOP think they are still in power, and they are completely defunct now. The fact that they laughed at Obama's proposal is actually what is most laughable. They are irrelevant, and all their posturing is like the Lilliputians did with Gulliver. They will be now be pushed by us, the people, led by President Obama who truly represents us, until they concede to everything we want from here on, and for the good of all. This is not a pipe dream, its happening. Look how the bombing in Gaza stopped so quickly. They have no more power of any real consequence and it is time for us to push them back and back until they fall off the cliff into their self-created abyss to find themselves where they belong, (and crying like a bunch of babies for help from us).

When he couldn't control and deliver votes from the TeaParty contingent who won in 2010, he ceased to be a viable leader or negotiator.......

I'm so glad Obama is standing firm. Loved the portrait by Norman Rockwell of JFK, thanks TC.

I hope he holds firm and refuses to negotiate. Let them go over the cliff and then try to explain to their irate constituents.

Oh Mr. Boehner, your Viagra days are over! Your man lost, and you need to be brought down to size. You can't stay artificially inflated forever. You were never very impressive anyway.

Refusing to compromise would indicate a brass brain in the head pan and not the other male brain as exercised by Obama!

I just don't understand Republicans, and anybody who votes for them. If we go over the fiscal cliff its because Republicans don't know there ass from their elbow.
