Every program and policy the republicans speak about has strong racial undertones. Who are the "takers" and who are the "makers? This is a long standing attitude that ignores the change of the public "complexion" in favor of policies that support the continuation of not so subtle racial policies.

Amazing that Roger Hedgecock was ousted out of office after being convicted of campaign finance violations and is STILL free to spew his hatred and racism on the radio!

Seems as tho if he has nothing to play on he makes it up or stretches the truth. He's already proven he can't be trusted. Republicans must be really desperate to follow this guy!

Kit: Let's be honest. Nearly all of the social programs in this country are used by minorities- their is no racial undertone; this is fact. Food Stamps, Planned Parenthood, reduced and free lunch programs, subsidized housing. are by and large used by minorities and illegal aliens. Billions upon billions of dollars are poured into these programs on the backs of the tax payer.
These are not programs to give them a leg up out of their situation, these programs keep them in their present situation. If you lived in a low rent controlled apt, receiving $350.00 a month in stamps, unemployment insurance, medicare, why would you bother to look for a job?
Even better, if your daughter gets pregnant, Planned Parenthood will foot the entire bill, and give you a stipend to boot.
Is the President going to address these social concerns? Reagan tried, and was continually defeated by the Democrats who saw taking away these benefits as an injustice to the deserving poor. Reagan saw these people as poor, but not deserving.

I hate idiots spouting stuff they know nothing about! In Illinois, if you need help - you have to have tons of paperwork, and Even if you have Everything they ask for you can't always get help! Subsidized Housing has a LONG list of people Waiting - only pregnancy might get you in before someone else on the list. Food stamps are a joke, suremore are getting them, but it's still ot enough for a month.. I have NO idea where Planned Parenthood operates like that - since when & where does it "foot the bill"??? Illinois MIGHT give an unwed mother Medicaid, and foodstamps, & some sort of housing - but Illinois taxpayers "foot the bill" (with Churchs cheering, but NOT aiding!)..but even then, that girl is a Citizen & has her paperwork! I'm sick of CONservative LIARS!!!!!

Well, isn't he just so precious — the prettiest little cupcake on the plate! NOT!!!!!

"… that “hatred of white people has now become an epidemic in this country” and is even “informing political decisions that are made.” The cause? President Obama and white-hating public schools. … public schools are teaching “hatred of white people” and “hatred of white privilege.” … "

I think Hedgecock is more than just a little paranoid. Is it hatred of white people and white privilege that is being taught, or is it a celebration of various cultures and ethnicities that is being taught? I think the latter, unless of course you get into states like Arizona where they have bannished Mexican American studies etc.

I think that assholes like Hedgecock (You really have to love his last name, sort of rings like Bobbitt!) are starting to feel the pain of positions that so many Americans of other ethnicities have felt for years, and he doesn't like it one wit! It is time to change or be left behind.

Ty for great graphic Tom. . .agree with you Kit. . .Nixon formalized the "Southern Strategy" into a "racist" polo-marketing campaign and essential Republican voter segment after Kennedy defeated him and he retreated to a "whites only fantasy-land" in Florida. . .but the nonsense was here before there was a USA. . .it was a founding principle of the was in the Constitution for crying out loud. . .if that doesn't make the case...what could? Confederate Plantation Democracy is and always was a myth of illusional notions. For starters the Greeks NEVER had a democracy... But the Haudenosaunee did and many of our genuine freedoms are based on theirs...but we wouldn't want that truth out would we? They used the symbol of the bundled arrows for at least 200 years before giving it to the US as a gift and symbol of strength and eternal friendship...guess too many white folks just didn't know what that was...shameful job on the friendship...Andrew Jackson et al like types...a deep and deadly disgrace. Abolitionists were spiritually fierce but minute in numbers. . .certainly not a mainstay in most white's heritage. John Brown was not a common mold. The vast majority realizing what racism [in it's various strains and forms] actually is in this country and the Republican's key role and stakes in keeping such ignorance alive...would go a long way in overcoming this very stupid blight on human civilization. We were making great strides but Mr. Reagan and the Republicans lied--- called it a once again made it admirable in the '80's to be a new kind of whiny white racist ass as a stance on equality...stupidest collective move in recent history. Just weren't willing to continue the discomfort of authenic societal healing after centuries of racist disease. Eisenhower did not support civil rights because he was morally against segragation and descriminatory practices. . .he was afraid communists would win over and organize US ethnic minorites...particularly black folks if he didn't...he said so himself. Lincoln learned over time but he was not unracist in the beginning...he was smart and genuine so he figured the crap out. Lincoln's Republican Party DIED when he did. Note: should venacular offend anyone...there is no term vulgar enough to aptly describe Racism in this country and how Republicans multi-mask a desparate ploy for political and economic control. Subliminal doesn't mean you're not doing something...just means you're numb-witted while you do it. And WHY on this once green we always use instruments and timelines of the oppressors and problem-makers whenever we measure so-called human rights "progress?"

Racism in the US is fear and greed...sick and simple. . .a whole bunch of ignorant fools thought they could OWN what it means to be human. If that is not the ultimate mindset born of irrational ignorance and stupidity...i'd loathe hearing better examples. . .Republicans are mindless. . .they've had more than enough time to figure this out...

FactCheck: more food stamp recipients are white than any other ethnic group--it is the racial subtones of propaganda that convince others it is minorities.

All conservatives lie as a matter of course. There are no honest conservatives in either elected office (in DC) or in radio or TV. Even MSNBC allows Michael Steele on their network despite the fact that when he ran for the Senate he had flyers handed out and posted all over minority neighborhoods telling them to vote on Wednesday. And he's one of the more honest conservatives around. They also have Joe Scarborough his own 3 hour show where almost every lie on MSNBC occurs. At least he's kind of respectful of those he disagrees with. (Which could never be said for Hedgecock, who is even more dishonest than most small tie cons.)

There was a time when I asked, "Where do these people (such as Roger Hedgecock and Rush Limbaugh) come from?" Now, I'm more inclined to ask, "Where do these people's followers come from?" I can understand that every now and then some big-mouthed loon gets a microphone and gets noticed by like-minded people. But when they get a fan base --like Rush's "dittoheads"-- you know for a fact that the "dumbing down of America" doesn't take a whole lot of effort!

Bless you for that timely reminder, Rixar! (on PP reminding us of all the black troops who had fought along side him in defence of democracy and freedom).

I was overjoyed when looking at books on WWII to see that the all black [segregated] regiments brought to the UK were welcomed here – and that we refused to let segregation happen here – so much so that the US had to make films explaining this for their white troops as fights were breaking out as some white US troops demanded that black US troops leave a pub that they wanted to frequent – and the British occupants of the pub of all shapes and sizes took offence and rose to the black troops defence – hooray!.

We are all one people - genetics proves that if nothing else!

What has brought them to their knees is our black President. Before Obama the Repubs racism was off the radar but once he became President, they lost all sensibility and are continuing to try and defeat his every move while at the same time wondering how they lost the past 2 elections.

The old White Party and followers of people like Hedgecock, Limbaugh, Coulter and their ilk have made complete fools of themselves, their continued bigotry will assure the Dems another win in 2016.

Thanks Tom for the post, vidieo clip and the link to the Right Wing Watch article. Mr. Hedgecock is the perfect example of what the GOP base has become. Read, viewed and noted.

Allen, I hope that you never have rely on any of these programs that you stated that are so easy to get, the people that rely on these things most have lost their jobs and down on their luck stop shouting you bigot comments, as for Roger Hedgecock he is a total idiot that is a crook and should be in jail.
