True enough, when people make a choice for their religious philosophy or make a choice to have none, we can respect their choices. As long as it does not involve hurting another person or animal.

Having lived in northern Canada, the longest day can be very long. Even though had I lived even further north the effect would have been greater, where I lived the sun rose between 2 and 3 a.am. and set about midnight. It was never a "pitch black" night. People often played softball until midnight. Of course the winter solstice is the exact opposite where the sun rises between 9:30-10 a.m. and the sun sets by 4 p.m. Talk about extremes.

Happy Litha to all, no matter how you celebrate it!

As someone that was at Stonehenge today along with 20000 others to see in the summer solstice, may I wish you the same. ( by the way with mist and drizzle its was it impossible to judge the moment when the sun rose )
