I have opposed Clarence “Teabag” Thomas for a long long time, beginning with watching Anita Hill testify at his confirmation hearing. Later, when he attended Koch Brothers strategy sessions with Herr Scalia, I thought there was justifiable grounds to impeach him, but sadly, grounds are not enough, no matter how right it would be to do so.

To impeach a supreme Court Injustice, you need articles of impeachment passed by a majority of the House & conviction in the Senate by a two thirds majority, 67 votes. So There's no way in hell that we are going to get him off the Surpreme Court! Wish he & Scalia would kick the bucket.

I learned early in life the only Supreme I can count on is Diana Ross.

As usual, TomCat, you are absolutely right, but even more so than usual.

Even with no sleep and horrible, raucus neighbours...

Same with Candy L., less the obnoxious neighbours, I hope.

Gloria picchetti, you are not only equally right, but made me laugh out loud!

There is a long-standing tradition of giving bribes (sorry I mean 'gifts' or vastly excessive payments for work) to spouses instead of the principal so that what is exactly going on can be concealed from the public – seems as though it is happening again.

What a dishonest and HYPOCRITICAL bunch the TeaBaggers are!

Thomas is a disgrace. Our problems in teaching those who do not want to know the truth are obvious. More often than not, we are merely able to preach to the choir, so to speak, because people who don't want truth will not listen to it. My suggestion is to go to every news post on this site that is spreading faux news BS and counter it in the comments with "facts" ... not more opinions ... but "facts" that can disprove what has been said by faux news. If we keep doing it en masse, maybe some of them will finally learn the truth.

"I have opposed Clarence “Teabag” Thomas for a long long time, beginning with watching Anita Hill testify at his confirmation hearing."

I am absolutely with you, TomCat on this one. I believed Anita Hill then and I still do. I think Thomas is the worst kind of human being, ugly and mean to his very core. I think he is the worst Justice we have ever had - and I know a thing or two about that as I was pre-law in my collegiate days and actually studied the entire history of that Court beginning with a wonderful book, Nine Old Men, and a host of others recommended by my faculty adviser. We have had visionaries and duds on the Supreme Court but never one as viciously mean as Clarence Thomas. Even Scalia is better though not by much.

Injustice Clarence Thomas: "…you're going to look around and wonder what happened to your great country…"

I'll tell you what happened in two words: Republicanus/Teabaggers!

What did and are they doing?

Subverting the Constitution
Subverting the will of the majority
Allowing unelected persons to effectively run the country by accepting their inducements
Subverting national interests to personal interests
Promoting inequality
Supressing the vote.

The list is endless. Need I go on?

" I’ve seen video of Ginny in action, and she reminds me of Batshit B, but not quite as bright." — Considering how absolutely unintelligent Batshit Bachmann is, Ginni Thomas must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

No matter how many times Thomas proclaims "no conflict of interest", I don't believe him. Not only that, I never believed him over the Anita Hill affair either.

There MUST be a cleaning of the Congress of all vermin. Fumigate in 2014!

What a pos he is! Did we lose our country to tyrants or what? We get NO justice in this 2 tier justice system.

the only reason because he is the only black supreme court justice. How rude. He is one of the smartest and best ones of the whole bunch.

LOL! It continually amazes me that RepubliCONs can find & use the Worst racial stereotypes to the GOPs own end & to the detriment of their respective races. I'm sure the GreedyOnePerceters find it amusing that Thomas found a blond "soul-mate" just as evil & stupid as he. The white wife proves he's not as black as Obama, the greed proves he can be bought & therefore was "safe" for the Supreme Court rather than chancing him as President.

He was accused of inappropriate behavior during his confirmation hearings, but (remember Anita Hill?) they approved him anyway. He is definitely doing a Conflict of Interest, and is supposed to be unbiased, and he is all that and not worthy of the robes he wears and the seat he holds. I wish we could Impeach the leper to our justice system. He has destroyed the once Supreme Court.

Just another day of 'justice' in the supreme court, I guess.
I'm not particularly well versed in your literature and epithets, but is he an example of what you would call an 'Old Tom' or is he just too dishonest for that.

Yes, Candy is right, and we are, sadly, stuck with this dirt-bag.
Got to keep the GOP out of the White House, as more opportunities to nominate justices will, sooner, or later, be coming up.
Not that it would not be good to get them out of control of the House!
Good thing I have decent blood pressure, I feel like I'm living in a facsimile of "The World According to Nixon."

Thomas is an embarrassment to the law profession and the human race. It is hard for a person to think of him as being impartial when Thomas appears at these far right wing gatherings. The members of the Supreme Court should sanction him and Scalia.

Voters are at fault .....they keep electing republicans and think they'll have different results from them next time. No one believed Anita Hill when she at the loss of her own privacy tried to warn the public what a scumbag he was. But republicans took him under their wing anyway....so when you elect a republican ....you get what you voted for.

Don't forget the 2014 elections - get enough Democrats in the House, and add more to the Senate, they can start the ball rolling to have all Supreme Court Justices serve by term, not for lifetime. They will also have to follow the rules of the other courts...no more favoritism, at least no so blatant.
I do agre with the others that our Supreme Court is a joke...Let the Supreme Diana reign. Noted with thanks.

All but one of the posts are great and spot on. Clarence Thomas forgets what his roots are (not because of skin color) his mother worked for pennies a day in Pin Point, Ga. to try and keep her and her two sons going. His grandparents in Savannah, Ga. took them in and he worked hard to get his degrees, he was an excellent student and got great grades. He even thought of becoming a Roman Catholic priest at one time and actually attended a seminary. He changed course after the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King and wanted to address prejudice and injustice! So what happened to this once great man? He is now and empty husk of what he was once. Thomas SOLD OUT! A descendant of slaves selling himself out to the highest bidders and regardless of how he wants to vaunt himself to the rest of the world, he knows what and who he is. Nothing NICE! My only humor and consolation is that wife of his must be utter HELL to live with. I mean come on calling out Anita Hill twenty years after the "fact" gives one an idea of what piece of work she is. Do not start me on Scalia who should be recused from most legal decisions he makes, his conflict of interest is his ROMAN CATHOLIC PRIEST SON! Get my drift how the ROMAN CATHOLIC CORPORATION is infiltrating everything? And no I am not a conspiracy theorist but if it smells like, looks like ...... facts there just may be something there.

You're spot on, TomCat! Just give Ginny Thomas enough time to drink more of her tea, implode, and decide to call Anita, again, for old times sake, probably in the middle on an election. The woman is, as some would like to say, cray cray!

OMD....I have banged my head so hard on my desk that my brain fell out.......hold on while I reinsert it......

Ok....hey....I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. Man, one little day of being unable to comment about drove me insane. Then I come back....to this...this...this THING, this INSECT mascarading as a human being and as a Supreme......after everyone else's excellent posts, all I can say is.....there is no JUSTICE....especially with the likes of this BAGGER and the rest of the Fascist Five.

So many good comments.... I, also, have disliked Thomas ever since Anita Hill spoke up against him. As usual, the "men in charge" decided she must be lying, when all they were really doing was protecting the perpetrator. He really is lower than pond scum. Thanks for the article.

Thanks to all but the Republican. Thomas' being black has nothing to do with my opposition to him, but voting with racists to take away the Voting rights of other black people is reason enough to oppose him all by itself. Perhaps you are using projection and falsely accusing me of racism to hide your own.

Kudos to virtually everyone else.

Mr. Thomas must be delusional. When he looks in a mirror, he has to see a white man looking back. How can a man his age, married to a white woman, not have experienced the social prejudice that every other black man in the US experiences? How can he come to the decisions that he has? It can only be explained by his lying to himself.

i have sent a galaxy of stars and agree with almost all. ALL of the comments on this post have been spot on, except for one. He voted to take away the voting rights act! How can that be? He has to be trippin or something! Thomas and Scalia are the worst justices we have had, ever!! And if Anita Hill was brought up to testify now, I don't think he would have made it to SCOTUS. Surely, they would have voted him down, in this day and in light of his "Uncle Tom" view!
There is a way to get rid of these Teabagger laws. VOTE IN 2014 AND 2016! Without hesitation, help get out the vote in any way you can. The U.S. has gone down a long road and to let these idiots drive the car is insane!
Please help get out the vote and maybe we can get rid of some of these teabagger lawmakers so we can get on with the business of running the country! The Obstructionists must GO!!!!
