"Not all Republicans are racist, but most racists are Republican, because the party has opened its doors and put out the welcome mat for hate mongers." Amen TC, Amen! Patty is right too – these horrors are going to be asked why they did the exact opposite of what Jesus said (Matthew 22: 36 – 40 inc, Matthew 25: 31 – end). Oh here's another thought – these Reich Wingers do realise that Jesus was an observant Jew, don't they?(!!!) – dearie me they ARE in for a shock! God bless those two ladies who spoke the truth on the video!

"From NRDC,org: It’s less costly to get electricity from wind turbines and solar panels than coal-fired power plants when climate change costs and other health impacts are factored in, according to a new study published in the Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences.

"In fact—using the official U.S. government estimates of health and environmental costs from burning fossil fuels—the study shows it’s cheaper to replace a typical existing coal-fired power plant with a wind turbine than to keep the old plant running. And new electricity generation from wind could be more economically efficient than natural gas.

"The study confirms what I recently posted about the effects of allowing the fossil fuel industry to externalize the costs of their harm to people and the environment. This subsidy of suffering must end!"

This confirms what Friends of the Earth have been saying for years over here too – nuclear and other powers are heavily subsidised, which does NOT make them cheaper – never mind what they will cost future generations!

Daily Kos & Cartoon- Boo, Hiss to the preachers and others who preach this hatred. This, and racism is alive and well, not just in the South, sadly and unfortunately. Kudos to the teacher and State Rep. Mary Moore for bringing this discussion up in re: schools and school districts. Prayers to you at the Church tonight, mine were not answered yesterday, perhaps I did not show enough veneration? Have a good day, Tom, and thanks.!!

Not surprised it's the white "righty" churches at all. There are still thousands and more who believe that if your skin is not white, it's not right. Telling their parishioners how to vote is nothing new either, it's called "singing to the choir" and yet they call themselves Christians when they have not the slightest idea what a true Christian is. I'd bet many don't know Jesus was a Jew, that ought to throw a wrench in their way of thinking. You can't pray away ignorance no matter how hard they try.

So much hatred, so much anger and so much of it from people who have no reason to be that way......if we could only channel all that misplaced energy, we wouldn't need fracking or coal or even wind....

"Alienating Jewish voters is poor campaign strategy. Cuccinelli has already alienated women with his anti-choice rhetoric, and alienated modern people by advocating reinstatement of anti-sodomy laws."

Ken Cuccinelli has an even stronger anti-woman voting record as a Virginia legislator than Governor Ultrasound himself. I don't know what's going in Virginia that has made so many so crazy, but I just find it incredibly hard to believe that state will elect this racist fear-mongering fool to the office of Governor. He might try to distance himself from some things but more to the point are the racist, vile, anti everyone who isn't rich and white things he DOES embrace. There isn't a single element of positiveness in his entire campaign, it is all negatives. Reminds me of The American President where Michael Douglas said of his republican opponent that he had no interest whatsoever in solving the problems the nation faced only telling people who to blame for them. Reminds me of the republican party of today. And that clip from the Ed show was, well, incredible. Not surprising that "men of the cloth" are preaching hatred from the pulpit in the South, only that so many people are seeming to begin to notice, finally, just how racist their republican leadership is. My hope is that the women of the south take back their voices from those republican men who are trying to take the South back to the 1700's and throw the bums out. Starting next year.

Puzzle — 3:04 I thought this was a candle holder or oil lamp but I was wrong. This is what we would call an old fashioned steamer and I got caught up in the delicious smells. Here's a bit of what Wikipedia has to say:

"A tagine (Arabic: طاجين‎ tajin from the Persian: تابه‎) is a historically Berber dish from North Africa that is named after the special earthenware pot in which it is cooked. A similar dish, known as tavvas, is found in the cuisine of Cyprus. The traditional tagine pot is formed entirely of a heavy clay, which is sometimes painted or glazed. It consists of two parts: a base unit that is flat and circular with low sides and a large cone- or dome-shaped cover that sits on the base during cooking. The cover is designed to promote the return of all condensation to the bottom. With the cover removed, the base can be taken to the table for serving. "

Oh, I can taste a wonderful dish already that my physio's wife makes — beef strips, spinach, black plums, onions simmered. And wouldn't the dish look nice on the table too!

Daily Kos — The psuedo Christian church, and people like the senile Pat Robertson, think they are the moral compass of the nation? They can't find their way to their professed home!

"Martin Luther King said the most segregated hour in America is at 11 o'clock on Sunday mornings, during church services. That presents several realities. It allows those of ill will to use that homogeneity to indoctrinate and to foment a false reality to be feared, a fear of the "the other."

They are the spawn of Satan in promoting their hatred and bigotry.

Alternet — There are fewer nuts in a box of Cracker Jacks than in the Republicanus/Teabagger party! Somebody take the InsaniTea away before it contaminates the entire food and water supply! — The Republicanus/Teabaggers are so reactionary that I'd bet that their own shadows scare them. In order to move to wind and solar, they'd have to spend money to make money and that is a concept they don't understand. I wonder what they'll say when the planet is on death's door and there are very few people left? How will they make money then? How will they be able to worship at the altar of greed when the altar is gone?

Cartoon — I look at this picture, specifically at the people, and wonder how they could be so wrong-headed. If David Koch, who would have been 17 at the time, were at that school, he'd be leading a parade to remove the students. Sad day in history.

You know, for a country founded by people looking for change, the US has fallen a great distance from its roots!

Monday September 23, 2013, 6:15 pm : Well duh – "It’s less costly to get electricity from wind turbines and solar panels than coal-fired power plants when climate change costs and other health impacts are factored in, according to a new study published in the Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences." Who could have foreseen?;) ANYONE with half a brain (yes, even a RepubliCON!) Yet RrepubliCONs would have us suffer – for our own good, of course. That which does not kill us, makes us stronger. Sure, lung is covered by Obamacare, isn't it?
