Here are the results of our How Long Will the Republican Shutdown Last Poll. Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories. Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population. Nevertheless, our polls are often accurate.

I think they'll try it again. It the only way they know how to get their ill-thought points across, bullying and acting like 2 year olds. The money lost last week because of their shenanigans means nothing to them, their blinders are on and it's full speed ahead.
I'm in the majority on this poll. Though I really wish I had been wrong, so many people were frightened, others had their pay checks with held some had lost that pay it will not be returned to them, and we know the many other consequences that were involved.
I'm not sure that this meets the legal level for sedition but it sure needs to be kept in the minds of the Americans that actually do forget so quickly. I think some of these House members and even some in the Senate are so ignorant on what a government is, what their duties are and how to behave that these are the sheep being led to slaughter. They follow along because they are very anti-government, and feel they must follow along. They are not attorneys and if you listen they really haven't a clue about what they are doing there. (Or as picture on Facebook showed, so unable to spell that a car had the with words "Obama is the Ant Christ" - I didn't know that ants were that religious.)
Remember the old movie "The Candidate" with Robert Redford? The most telling line is the end of the movie, now that he has won the Senate seat, he asks, "What do we do now?" Indeed, what now, these folks are lost and we are paying the heavy price.

You and me both, JL A. But, we also both know, Holder is going to pursue this ......like he has the Bush Crime Syndicate. NADDA. Not gonna happen.
There is only one of two ways to rid ourselves of this affliction...one is to vote every single one of them out...and we all know what the other is....but we aren't quite there....yet. If they manage to plunge the full faith and credit of the US over the proverbial cliff.....the 'yet' may happen sooner than anyone anticipates.

I'm impressed that the poll was so accurate – but I do think that the teabaggers will try it again next year – they just do not understand or like democracy! Loved the comments!

I did get a kick out of John McCain - he was very much against the shutdown and talked about the GOP public opinion being so low - yesterday I heard him say that they usually can at least count on their relatives and staff but his own mother called to tell him "Enough!" I thought it took some guts to say that publicly....

I wish I been wrong and the shutdown had only lasted 1 day, but as I said
"The Republican/Teabaggers are not known for being enlightened thinkers . . . just ideologues who can’t find their way out of a wet paper bag! They care nothing for the millions upon millions of American lives that they negatively impact. Republican/Teabaggers are domestic terrorists without doubt, willing to hold the nation hostage at all costs."
Well, over and above the costs to the nation in economic terms, in stress, etc, the Republicanus/Teabaggers have cost themselves in the approval ratings. May this rating drop further until they enjoy oblivion!
2014 is the time to start the turn around to sanity by putting all Republicanus/Teabaggers possible into the unemployment line!
@ Arielle --- That is rich! I hope that those kinds of remarks will be heard publically and more often. The Republicanus/Teabaggers need to hear AND understand it!

Thankfully, it wasn't any longer. Unfortunately, the Teabaggers haven't learned a thing, nor will they stop trying to destroy the government. Sadly, there are too many rabid Republicans following along blindly. 2014 elections aren't close enough.

Noted.. Fortunately it wasn't longer than it was. But in 3-4 months, I've got a strong feeling they'll do it all again.. They'll find something else they for which they can hold everyone hostage. The closer we get to mid-term elections the more longevity this nonsense will have in everybody's memory. And by then more people will have signed up for Obamacare and LIKED IT! Teddyboy and his TPers won't have THAT to hold over us. Liking Obamacare is what they were afraid of. One of them even slipped and said it on one of the network Sunday morning shows. Don't remember which one - I watch them all.

Your polls are of those few responding and all of a like mind -radical left. That in itself makes it a waste of time and space. conventional wisdom said they wouldn't let it go to "default" and that cut the answer to the one that proved correct. It appears to me that the radical left uses statistics, bad research, innuendo and such polls as tools all too often. The media outlets of the left such as MSNBC are as biased and phoney as FOX so why can't we all meet in the middle and get something of value accomplished??? Your type of sermonizing hurts more than it helps.
