Sherman needs to do it again….. :)

Inhofe has a heart???? News to me. Yeah, Medicare….that other socialized medicine they hate….but use regularly. Fascist Bast**d.

New Jersey's Mob Boss is exactly what you said, Cat Man, nothing new to see here…move along. He is a Fascist and he subscribes to all that is horribly bad and evil about the Rethuglinazi, Fundy-Fascist Bagger agenda. My Dawg…..could you imagine what would happen if he were (I can't wrap ma head around this so bare with me) president….and he had a meeting with say…PUTIN —and he pulled his bullying routine with THAT man…….Jeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz. Putin would get that cryptic little smile he reserves for those who irritate him or he finds utterly stupid. Yeah, go ahead dumba$$, irritate the one man in the world who could tie you and the entire western world into tiny little insignificant knots…..just for his ….amusement. Riiiiiiiiight.

So glad to see you posting again, Tom - we really missed you!

I think I stopped listening to anything any Republican had to say several moons ago - if it's not a blatant lie, it's a statement so stupid my cat wouldn't say it. Inhofe just proves my point.

People who are twiddling their thumbs instead of the work they are supposed to do often become focused on very strange and nearly irrelevant minutia; I think Andy provided us with a great example of that.

Good to see you getting back in the saddle again, TomCat. But please be careful and don’t overdo it.

Jim Imhofe is right that if Medicare pays for his the medical bills of his heart surgery while he’s a member of the 1%, you can’t call Medicare socialized medicine. It’s outright anti-social for him even to consider claiming his expenses for his operation from Medicare. It must have been open-heart surgery and his brain was cooled at too low a temperature.

The New Yorker’s satire is right on the mark as usual. Whatever Obama proposes, the GOP is going to out of its way to oppose it, even at the risk of being ridiculed because they proposed it in the first place. They’ll spin it so hard that in their minds (and theirs only) they become completely disassociated from it and think it is the worse plan that they had ever to agree with. Obamacare in a nutshell.

Yes, Chris Christie is very bad news. He’s not all-out, over the top mad and that could give the impression that he also politically sane, but he’s just cunning and sells his message with words that imply action instead of stagnation. But underneath the message is still the same.

Has Senator Inhofe never bothered to buy insurance or was he the only person in Congress to be excluded from the super plan granted to all members of Congress or was he just dissembling for attention? Ummmm....which might it be?

The only thing new about this insurance is that those who are not wealthy will have the same option for heart surgery as did Senator and Prevaricator Inhofe or does he wish to have only the wealthy be protected from illness?

Love Andy Borowitz, he always hits home.

Inhofe reminds us over here of the Repuglicon imbeciles who say that Prof Stephen Hawking would be dead if he had had to rely on 'socialist medicine' – the Rethuglicons being sadly too stupid to realise that a) Hawking is British despite the American accent of his machinery and b) it was the NHS that saved him and has continued to save him over the decades! It doesn't surprise me but does revolt me that Inhofe took from the system for his open heart surgery – I'm just surprised they could find one to operate on.

I love Andy Borowitz – always brilliant.

Gov'r Christie doesn't seem to me as a new kind of GOP member – just a particularly crafty one.

Please take care of your health TC!

Maybe Mr. Inhofe would never have needed surgery if we had had Obamacare and "socialized medicine" that might have led to better preventive medicine...then again, Mr. Inhofe doesn't believe in science facts (i.e. see climate change) so I am surprised he was willing to undergo surgery rather than just go a prayer meeting.

Noted. Many above have mentioned that members of Congress health plans are taken care of us, the taxpayers. They have no right to complain. I just wish that when the media interviews them, and they spout these absolute lies, that they would be called out for them. The media has allowed these politicians to outright lie on many issues for years without pushback, and this must stop.

4:52. Yup, that's copper all right. (Average is up to 5:05 BTW)

New Yorker – Yup, that's Republicans all right.

Christie – Yup, that's him.

Cartoon: Well, yup, but if we want to keep maintaining how much the Republicans (and the Democrats for that matter) have changed since the GOP was the party of Lincoln, I think we need to admit it about this as well.

And, yes, please take continuing care of yourself. I know I and others sound like broken records. That happens when the matter is so important.

Good to have you back, TomCat. Thanks for the great post. I rarely listen to what the rabid Right says, as it usually makes no sense at all. Christie just seems to be a little more intelligent than the average Republican, or is it just being more crafty? Either way, guess NJ and the rest of us will find out soon enough.
