Ty for posting Tom . . .

...the GOP and affiliates continue to be a deeply disturbing imbalance...

"If men can develop weapons that are so terrifying as to make the thought of global war include almost a sentence for suicide, you would think that man's intelligence and his comprehension... would include also his ability to find a peaceful solution." ― Dwight D. Eisenhower, Fmr. US Pres.

“Today we are faced with the pre-eminent fact that if civilization is to survive, we must cultivate the science of human relationships, the ability of all peoples of all kins to live together and to work together in the same world at peace.” ― Franklin D. Roosevelt, Fmr. US Pres.

“Most Americans are close to total ignorance about the world. They are ignorant. That is an unhealthy condition in a country in which foreign policy has to be endorsed by the people if it is to be pursued. And it makes it much more difficult for any president to pursue an intelligent policy that does justice to the complexity of the world.” ― Zbigniew Brzezinski, Fmr. US Nat. Sec. Advisor

"The old Lakota was wise. He knew that man's heart away from nature becomes hard; he knew that lack of respect for growing, living things soon led to lack of respect for humans too." ―Ota Kte, Chief Luther Standing Bear, Lakota, 1869-1939, "Speaker of the People"

I hope your shopping went well and it didn’t exhaust you too much, TomCat. Just think on how rewarding it is going to be to have all the new stuff in a much nicer apartment without tenants like Guitar man and Stuck un stupid.

Obama’s dealing with Iran on its nuclear power program will the GOP make it spin twice. First of all Obama has talked, even somewhat friendly, to America’s arch-enemy in the Middle East. He’s taken the arch out of arch-enemy, how dare he. What is the GOP going to do without it! At the same time they are going to follow in Andy Berkowitz’ footsteps, just like you said, TC, and blame Obama for trying to take the heat of the ‘overwhelming failings’ of the ACA.
The deal was made largely by the negotiation skills of John Kerry. I must say I’m rather impressed by his successes in the Middle East. He’s doing better than I expected and better than his predecessor, Hillary Clinton, not only because he’s a man – which is unfortunately still a huge asset in this region, but also because he’s more flexible and has no trouble to seem meek, soft spoken and even a touch submissive when the role demands it. People in the Middle East are terribly difficult to negotiate with, but Kerry seems to have found a way.
Wasn’t Virginia the state where Ken Cuccinelli stayed on as Attorney General while he was in the race for governor, which wasn’t illegal, but partisan and simply ‘not done’ and then used his office to change voting rules at the last minute which effectively stole Democrats’ votes? And the Koch Brothers, and interestingly not the Republican Party, want a recount and possibly have the whole voting cancelled and the winner ‘picked’ by the Republican majority in the house? They must be kidding. If anything the Democrats have more than enough reason to cry foul. To be continued, I’m sure.

You say, TomCat, that former UN ambassador Bolton’s call on Israel for an air strike against Iran, which in essence undermining US foreign policy by committing an act of war against another nation is extremely anti-American. How about calling it sedition or even treason?

Hope your shopping panned out for you and was a good bargain. I loathe shopping with a passion. Like my Dad in that respect...get in, get it and get out. LOL. I even hate to shop for groceries because people just have to coffee clatch in the middle of the isles....I really HATE that. Makes me get road rage on my scooter!!!! LOL

As for that IDIOT Bolthead Bolton....let's send an airstrike to HIS house. The seditionist Fascist Bast**d.

Someone outside of VA needs to hold an investigation into their elections this g-round. Will that So goes the Bagger Advance without a shot fired.

Front page kinda makes you wonder what differences in CA politics and Feinstein's career would've had without the assinations...

5:09, umm, all that sugar…

New Yorker: Iran contra in reverse? Ri-i-i-i-ight.

Virginia: the Daily Kos election team seems pretty confident about the AG race. Anything in the State House, of course, is another matter.

ACA: I learned from the Kos article, same as you, Patty. But you know Bernie Sanders would not allow Vermont to be ignorant of a plum provision like that. Kudos to Vermont for seizing on it.

Cartoon – I remember that sad day, not as vividly as November 22 1963, but very vividly. I was in Colorado then, but I was born and brought up in the Bay Area. A little snark: that was back when Dianne Feinstein had some brains. The Rethugs didn't love that. They did love his Twinkie defense since he was white and straight.

Sadly, in death Harvey accomplished what no one living could then have done. He called wide attention of straight people to how difficult it was to be gay. The current huge support of straights for gays stems originally from that. It's not only religion that owes a tremendous debt to the blood of martyrs.

I think John Bolton should be launched into Iran, if that doesn't work the rest of us can try diplomacy.....
