I love looking at the map of people who have looked at PP, TC and I have only just noticed that there are some in Iceland and some in what I think must be the Faroes and also the Arctic Circle above Norway and Sweden! Impressive! I am particularly impressed with all those who access PP from countries where English is their second (or even third) language kudos to them indeed!

Lots of red in the red states, could they be actually thinking with their brains?

Thanks, TomCat for all the hard work you put in. And don't you worry about February being a bit below average. We all know you have other things to do too and we'd rather you took care of your health than lose more sleep over another post.

I wonder why Bengt Holst who killed marius, the giraffe, was not fired or re sign from the Copenpagen Zoo. In Denamrk on February 9, 2014. Why does Bengt stay working the zoo as the director???? I am not satisfied abt the petition of Bengt Holst, the director of the Copenhagen Zoo because I read the German man killed Elephant in Germany in December 2013 that he was re signed from the Zoo. Thanks.

Barbara, you need to know something about the philosophy of European zoos. Their belief is that reproduction is good for animals and, if the offspring are ''surplus''....they're dealt with in the same way that nature deals with them....they're ''fed out.''

I AM NOT DEFENDING THIS PRACTICE....PLEASE DO NOT FLAME ME! I'm merely explaining something.

U.S. zoos have a different philosophy. We use contraception, which European zoos believe is possibly harmful to animals. There's a lot of data either way but it's a well-considered philosophy and it works for them.

Herbivores like giraffes certainly don't always survive to adulthood and this giraffe died a very quick and painless death--better than at the ''claws'' of a carnivore.

Again...I'm not defending this practice.....I'm explaining it.

Well if you see yet another access to the story "Why Fox Is Banned In Canada", that's probably me. Reading the comments, there certainly were a couple of right wing nutters! Of course, that did not include our Critter or some others.

As others have noted, good gobal coverage. There is even some from eastern Russia which I find interesting given the general "monitoring" of telecommunications.

Great work TC!

Pam, thanks for explaining this comment. I think you are right because of different philosophy. I understand what you explained it to me very clearly. Thanks so much.

Some potentially relevant context: Care2 was down in visitors in Jan. from Dec. and last I looked the past 30 days for regulars seemed like it had gone lower in Feb. from Jan. Parts of the East Coast were without power in Feb., too. Quantum is their measurement tool of choice and probably also provides for other global websites. You might want to look at your data, at least on occasion, about whether it aligns with general traffic trends or not.

Thanks everyone. Wait till you see the map right after it resets. With less than a month's dots, it will look naked.
