Who could forget the day that GW Bush was so busy trying to fathom the complexities of My Pet Goat that he left managing the nation under attack to ChickenHawk Cheney, known for his five deferment heroics. In the months that followed, it became clear that Cheney was the power behind the throne, and the only quality that exceeded his bellicosity was his incompetence, especially at weapons handling. That earned him the title Dead-eye Dick. No single individual was more responsible for the thousands of deaths, untold suffering, and trillions of dollars squandered in the failed Republican War in Iraq. Now he and his horrid daughter, The Lizard of Lies, are teaming up to try to make it happen all over again, while blaming the mess that he created on Barack Obama.

Lordy, why is this miserable bunch of bones still alive? Could it be that even Hell doesn't want him around? I'd like to see him hung by the same man who hung Sadaam but even better would be a small cell in a damp dungeon about 90 feet underground.

Where will Liz run for office next? She should perhaps pick a Southern state where faux noise 'rules'.

Dick Cheney should be in jail for war crimes. If Obama has done one thing wrong regarding the war in Iraq it's not putting all of those involved on trail. The only people who will believe Cheney are those dumbed down by 'faux noise alerts', well maybe except for Megan Kelly.

An Australian blogger said that many people reckoned that over half a million ordinary people had died in the Iraq war, and he thought it was probably more than a million. Sadly that seems likely to me. Both Cheyney and Bush and Blair are still so obsessed with their 'rightness' that it makes ordinary people ill to think about them. In the Chris Hayes clip Liz is staring hard – but blinking at a high rate, most oddly.

TC America may be in a Right Wing mess – but thanks to you, many in America and we too in Europe, can see the brilliant commentators of Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow – I wish we all had such!

Rachel Maddow's secret committee (Keep America Safe) sounds terrifying – they wanted to start a war with half a dozen countries including China and to try and prosecute perfectly virtuous lawyers who were defending people the Keep America Safe group hated – oh my!! Why didn't the Koch brothers invite her to their secret meeting at that resort where security was total as reported in The Daily Kos today….

Thanks TC!

this ChickenHawk should lead the wave of volunteers......I say the only army that should be sent should be the ChickenHawk GOP pols leading the call for violence/war who can then also pay for their own ammo, body armor and post-event health care with their own funds.......

Dick Cheney and his daughter should be the first to volunteer for any military intervention anywhere since they keep wanting to send our $$$ and other's children to do their venomous work.....

To start with, it seems like the onset of a secular war in Iraq has led to one positive result: (liberal) America has now wholeheartedly admitted and embraced that the war in Iraq was wrong. Of course I cant see any news from the US on my TV screen and most of my information comes from what I get here on Care2, but today was the first time I saw this put forward so clearly and without restraint as in Chris Hayes' video. I'm truly amazed and tip my hat to you, America.

But as ever, the Republicans put a damper on this, while there are some who dare to admit that they were wrong about Iraq, there is this fraction, headed by Cheney and daughter that negates any wrongdoing and in fact wants to do it all over again for the same inane reasons as before. Strangely this fraction is made up for the most part by the people who have done the most harm and were highest in the chain of command under Bush. Apparently if you're so high up there and do not get dragged in front of the courts in The Hague, you're allowed to say that you did nothing wrong, that in fact you were in the right which now gives you leave to blame someone else for your mistakes and even want to repeat those mistakes. I see no other way to put a stop to it than to indict them and haul them over to us. Because as Rachel put it at the end of her show: The question is if the Cheneys with starting this new organisation is not catering to a part of the GOP that maintains starting a war in Iraq was perfectly right and want to do it all over again. As long as Cheney is not made to pay for his war crimes, his influence will continue to 'inspire' at least part of the GOP.

The Chickenhawks are full of squawks and Cheney is one of the loudest. For a guy who could shoot a man in the face with a shotgun — and have that guy apologize to him there is a suspicion that he has Darth Vader as his Bitch. The current situation of Iraq falling apart and the ISIL troops behaving exactly like the Blackwater contractors shows that he succeeding in making more monsters. As usual Dick Cheney has shown how out of touch he is with basic humanity, but then what do you expect from him, he doesn't do guilt and there is a suspicion that he is only alive because Satan doesn't want him down in hell, he does have some standards but then Satan doesn't want Simone Cowell, Piers Morgan and the Kirk Cameron there either. Well actually he is preparing a surprise party but it is so difficult to get the Demonic personification of Rape into an Angel suit something to do with him having a massive 3 foot long Wang and it is so difficult to hide.

When he shot his best friend in the face he should have resigned from the WH but his agenda was to make a profit from Halliburton and screw the troops and the taxpayers.

I know I posted this on the Open Thread, but it is so startling and shocking I feel it bears repeating:

What wasn't predictable was that Megyn Kelly and Glenn Beck would as much as come within a stone's throw of accuracy.
Megyn Kelly
Glenn Beck

Apparently pigs do fly.

What a POS!
Dick Cheney Should be Rotting in The Hague, Not Writing Editorials

If there's one person who has absolutely zero business criticizing anyone for how they're running the country, it's Dick Cheney. This should be obvious to pretty everyone by now, but apparently the Wall Street Journal didn't get the message. Today, the paper published an editorial by Cheney and his daughter Liz in which the former Vice President blasts the "collapsing Obama doctrine" of foreign policy."

Taking the rapid advance of ISIS radicals through northern Iraq as his cue, Cheney accuses President Obama of "emboldening" America's enemies. He writes:

"Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many. Too many times to count, Mr. Obama has told us he is 'ending' the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan - as though wishing made it so. His rhetoric has now come crashing into reality...America's enemies are not 'decimated.' They are emboldened and on the march."

According to Cheney, the "failures" of the Obama presidency - which I guess are to not get the country involved in any more decade-long wars - are proof that our first African-American president is actively trying to take down America. He writes:

"Despite clear evidence of the dire need for American leadership around the world, the desperation of our allies and the glee of our enemies, President Obama seems determined to leave office ensuring he has taken America down a notch. Indeed, the speed of the terrorists' takeover of territory in Iraq has been matched only by the speed of American decline on his watch."

Forget for a second that President Obama has continued many of the policies of the Bush administration - the drone wars and NSA spying both started under Cheney's watch - and just consider the fact that Dick Cheney of all people actually has the gall to call someone else out for "taking America down a notch" and "being so wrong about so much at the expense of so many."

You don't need a political science degree to know how ridiculous this is. The Iraq War was the single biggest foreign policy disaster in recent - or maybe even all - of American history. It cost the country around $4 trillion dollars, killed hundreds of thousands, if not millions of innocent civilians, left 4,500 Americans dead, and turned what was once one of the more developed countries in the Arab World into a slaughterhouse.

Lol miracles happen Joanne. Just don't expect Glenn Beck and Kelly to be accurate for at least another year. They can only be accurate every once in a blue moon, or else their heads explode.

Cheney and his puppet kin are a laughing stock! He's desperate to salvage his reputation but it's unsalvagable!

Sad he is given the time of day by the media given his history and this appears to be an effort to falsify history for those writing it for our textbooks.

I honestly think that Dick Cheney is the worst vice president we have ever had, in every sense of that word. He had the lowest approval ratings, single digits if I recall correctly, when he left office of any since ratings have been taken. And as TC points out so well, there is nothing quite so ugly as a chicken hawk, especially one who was little more than a draft dodger and should have been imprisoned for that. I did my three years, I thought I owed the country that, even at 18 when I joined. It is always they who never put themselves out there at all who are loudest drum beaters for war, and they always want to send someone else's children into harms way. Especially the poorest children - keeps the riff raff down and kills off those who might in later life challenge the cowards like Cheney and their bluster. That idiot is trying to rewrite history that the ink is not dry on yet. But the only people he will ever fool are the maroons at fauxnoise. The rest of the world sees him for what he is, a disgusting excuse for a human being. Yeah, I feel strongly about this one. Bush was stupid, this one is evil. Big difference.

This almost human being is a traitor, and a bull shit artist of the first magnitude.
He sent our soldiers to a war intended to do nothing but bolster his family's oil involved future.
He played a part in scuttling Pres. ford's thoughts about alternative energy, so many decades ago, that this action helped pave the way for our oil dependence to escalate 89% during Saint Ronald's tenure in office.
Yes, let Cheney, Rumsfeld G.W. and the rest lead the first charge, if there is to be a return to our fighting in Iraq!!!

"I feel strongly about this one. Bush was stupid, this one is evil. Big difference."

Gene, I agree. Bush wasn't evil. I never thought he was racist. But, like Reagan, I don't believe he had the intellectual capacity to understand what he was doing. I think in his last year in office, when he sidelined Cheney, he finally caught on.

Cheney is pure evil, though.

Y,all have Dick & daughter WRONG! I am sure if he & liz would go over to Iraq, plan a dinner with the people who lost family & loved ones, then after a fine dinner(chicken&veg.),offer to these families the MONEY Dick & Liz & mega $$$$,s shareholders collected during & after this war, then all would end well! This is the way they do these things in the middle east. What do you good folks think?

Something humourous that I noticed about Liz Cheney . . . when she stands in profile, she has Pinochio's nose! I know that that is her father's influence, but damn, I swear I could see it growing! But then daddy's nose grew and grew with all the lies he told.

I don't want to spoil an Open Thread feature that I am sure TC will use, but AB said "In a development that offers a faint glimmer of hope for Iraq, both Sunnis and Shiites are finding common ground in the view that former Vice-President Dick Cheney seriously needs to shut up." I cracked up when I read it.

Excellent discussion with both Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow.

He deserves more than just a prison cell....and ma peeps know what I mean...yes, I AM that evil and that vengeful...and yes, I will have to do yet another lifetime on this planet for it.

Lizard of Lies....LOL...I like that one, Cat Man. Very apt for his replicant.
